as you know I had a bad squat accident in Dec 2006 you tube big bach squat accident if not LOL. Anyway my Left knee is becoming achy and locking up on me during squats the past couple sessions? any ideas for rehab/strengthen exercises, diet, supps? all input appreciated please thank you in advance.
Locking up, sounds like a meniscus problem. Only surgery will fix that if it is in fact a meniscus problem.
broken leg, torn acl, compartments syndrome, dislocated knee caps, bulging discs
There is a need for good nutrition to enhance post-surgical healing. The vitamins , minerals such as iron and zinc enhance healing as protein. The person have to eat wholesome foods which supply the nutrients we need. The breakfast may consists of cereals, snack foods and energy bars awe vitamin fortified. Reading food labels can give us helpful information about the amount of vitamins in our standard food choices. The diet has to be followed very strictly so that the recovery will be soon.

As far as the original poster, because of the history of previous injuries and their severity, he is a person who does need to seek professional help--ie PT at a minimum, sports medicine specialist/orthopod ideally. The ACL tear, if it was complete, will destabilize the knee completely. Depending on how the repair was done then, scar tissue/bone spur accumulation could be a contributing factor to the problems he's having.

Some knee strengthening exercises are designed to improve strength of the muscles of the knee. Begin with the basic knee strengthening exercises. Once these are too easy, they can be replaced with the intermediate knee exercises and eventually, the advanced exercises.
There are many specialized treatments provided for various types of parts separately. The Rehabilitation is the one of the best procedures followed by most of the people now a days. I think that the best procedure that has to be followed for the Knee is the Physiotherapy with some special actions taken. I had seen many of the people regained their health to normal position after taking the Rehabilitation treatment. It includes the treatments designed to facilitate the process of recovery from injury, illness or disease to as normal a condition as possible, The person may also gain self sufficiency during the process. One of my neighbored after a serious accident recovered with the help of the Rehabilitation process.
