muscle loss due to hiking trip?

just curious, i'm about to go on a 3 week hiking trip in the alps (only up to 3000m) and i'm wondering how much this will effect (affect?) my muscles?
it is quite strenuous hiking so i'm guessing my cardio will get better and i'll loose a bit of fat BUT will i notice a massive loss in muscle?

would a few pushups (100) each day more or less 'maintain' my upper body?

    thanks!

Dude who cares you get to hike around the alps for three weeks.

And i wouldnt expect you to lose much muscle at all really. Not enough to worry about.

keep your muscles in your backpack or some other safe place. maybe consider buying a lock.

if you are really concerned with losing them, just leave them at home in a safe deposit box.

You will most likely lose a bit of muscle - but nothing noticeable.
Many people would kill for the opportunity you have been presented. So go for it.

You will lose some strength mate, for sure - I recently did a 100 mile walk for charity and the weights were definitely heavier when I got back, lol!

But after a coupla months I'm stronger now than before the walk, so don't worry about it.
