I just finished my first 3 week cycle of DE bench on Saturday, and I will be changing accommodating resistance this weekend, and resetting the bar weight percentages to where I started the first 3 week cycle at. I think I have the basic understanding down.
However, I have a question about grips and bar weight percentages. If I split my DE bench into 3 sets of 3 with one close grip, one moderate grip and one wide grip, should I be keeping the bar weight the same for all three sets and basing them off of my regular grip 1rm? Or should I be changing weights between sets and calculating the weight for the close grip sets from my close grip 1rm, and the same for the wide grip? Thanks!
Weight is the same. Base it off your best grip 1RM.
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking that was the case, but was concered about my speed with the close grip in particular so I had been changing weights between grips.
first i did wide grip on bench press and then after almost one year i moved to close grip.
