    Metabolism after cut

I am just now trying to slowly move to a bulk phase after a lenghty cut cycle of about 6 months. I am 6'2 at 85kg and am taking in about 2500 calories. I am gaining weight A LOT faster than i was expecting and the fat is coming on as well. I finished my cut about 4 weeks ago at 79kg. At this level of calories I really should be close to my maintenace, i dont understand how I am gaining so fadt unless a lot of it is water? Could the lenghty cut have done something to my metabolism that I need to take into consideration.

How much is "A LOT"? How do you know 2,500 should be close to your maintenance? If it was you would not be gaining weight all that fast. What was maintenance before your cut and how much did you weigh at the time?
Move heavy weight, eat, sleep, repeat.
Geniuses make complicated scenarios simple, morons take simple concepts and complicate them.
