Wow, that's amazing. I'm buying one as soon as they put it out. Hopefully it's not ridiculously expensive.

huh, that's certainly interesting. We just built an ice bath in my gym, might have to goof around with it similar to what they are doing with the hand there.

better than steroids though?? it'd be cool if it was, that's for sure haha

they already have this stuff on the market. lol at the claim though, of course their claim wasn't specific enough to discredit it.

It is a really good article and has a lot of merit. I just wish every time a new product (supplement, ice pack, etc) they didn't have to advertise it as "better than steroids". Because no matter how good it works, it's instantly discredited.

Now this theory is nothing new, just a different way of getting the body/muscles to cool down. A few years back (probably 5 or more) there was an article in MD about how extreme cold can shock muscle into better growth and recovery. So I gave it a shot. I was working as a pizza delivery guy at the time. So I would train legs HEAVY right before I would go to work. As soon as I got to work I would sit in the walk in cooler for about 15-20 minutes. And I did see a faster recovery time and almost no DOMS.

Because I'm no Mr Wizard, I'll wait for Alex's take on this before I give it any serious thought.

This was a big thing a few years ago and never took off. Although, I'd be lying if I said I have not thought about holding ice packs in my hands between heavy bench sets.

    Supplements I currently take: Nitrean , BCAA , Creatine 500 , Multi-Plus , Fish Oil

Very interesting article. This would explain why Duffin was holding a frozen water bottle between Deadlift sets..

Guys, the ice bath for the hands won't work. As soon as the hand gets too cold such that the blood vessels constrict it becomes less effective. In addition, the vacuum of the product pulls them to the surface thus supercharging the process.

My wife went to Stanford and when we attended her 10 year reunion a couple of years ago, one of the guys developing this gave a talk about this cooling glove during a program called classes without quizzes. It sounded like some very compelling stuff. I'd love to give it a try, but I'll be the commercial versions of this are going to be really expensive.
