i basically have to write something about how it became such a big song and why people still like it and remember it

I remember when it came out it was hyped, but also it was the last of the early 80s pop balads soon after people went to warrent and poison and G&R, but at the time it was the weird new wave music that was mostly synthisizer, and prince having made the movie to go with the album was on heavy replay on MTV
personaly I think his success with his early albums was because of MTV,but I saw the movie and was more impressed with the album, I didnt care for either one but the song was the lesser of the two evils, for the time it fit, it wasnt ahead of its time
guess thats all I can add to it

purple rain? i dug the sogn...i think the hype was abotu the movie tho. don't really know. didn't think it was istory making enough to warrant assignment as a school paper.

i got the 2 last tests on thursday then I have to hand in my books on friday and then im free till the first of september
