I can see that this crossfit area does not get much attention. I am a big fan of crossfit training, and would like to learn more about different workout ideas, what works best, or what is most enjoyable for the populations....
Here is the "kinda" crossfit workout I did this morning.....
1 miles on the treadmill
4 sets of ab exercises
2 miles on the bike
4 sets of ab exercises
1.5 miles on the treadmill
4 sets of ab exercises
Felt great afterwards. It was cold here in the midwest, about 25 degrees when i woke up, so i kept my workout indoors today. I do want to incorporate sprints, bear crawls, and pushups in the next crossfit workout i do.
Personally, I prefer WODs under 15 minutes and involving a heavy lift mixed with something that takes my breath away. An example would be last week when I did 3 rounds of 10 155lb front squat and 30 sit-ups, or a WOD where we had 5 rounds of 7 body weight back squat (in my case, 215) and 7 Burpee box jumps. That workout was short, tough, and fun.
I'm ok with regular met-con workouts too but if the barbell isn't around enough I don't have as much fun. Meager as it is, I like USING my strength.
I usually dont use barbells with my cardio. Main reason why is that i dont want to overtrain any muscle groups as they already get a pretty good workout during my gym workouts.
