How do you pay for your membership?

I have been working out at the gym that my apt. complex has for quite some time. I am moving and was just qurious what I might expect to pay out there for a decent place. I will be sad to leave the convenience of my little gym but am excited to actually be working out in a "real gym" with more equipment. Last time I payed for a membership it was back in 95 and it was like 20 bucks a month or some crap. What do you pay? Thanks.

I pay $32 a month, my dad $20, my mom $10. I can get anyone kick ass deals now....but you have to live in my area. Dude wait till end of the month close outs to join. Usually they have deals going on then like free enrolment (which would save you $180 here) or half enrollment etc etc...so thats a lil trick i always have people use

It Golds (I know there is one in Fresno), I pay $36. Mine is a franchise here, so it is a little more pricey. There is one athletic club here that is $120/month! That's insane!

You will probably need to call Bally's and see what their price is. If you go in for a consulatation, don't sign anything until you know what the price at other gyms are. When I was at 24 hour fitness, I got them down to $27/month because I knew that another member there paid that much. If you don't know anyone, and Bally's is the kind of place that you can haggle, offer to pay them $7 less than they say it costs per month. Explain that their price is too high, then meet somewhere in the middle. You will probably only be able to save $3-4 per month.

I grew up in Fresno! Are you from there too? If so, what high school did you attend?

I pay $10,000 dollars a year when I'm at school. Of course part of that is paying for my college, but I just like the gym, not the college.

This summer my mom has a Y family membership, so I don't have to pay

New York Sports Club is $63 a month for me, thanks to a corporate discount, otherwise I was paying $78/month before that....

I grew up in the area. I am from Visalia acutally. I am actually moving back to Visalia here as soon as I find a place.

Thanks everyone for your replies...looks like I found a good deal at this little "hardcore gym" no frills, just people there to workout and not mingle. 28 bucks a month, no enrollment, rest of the summer free Will check it out when I move.

Most gyms give like a 3 day trial membership right?
