Back in Nov i did a meet and after squats my back locked up. After I took off 2 weeks and then started squatting in briefs again. There was a slight pain to right of spine over hip whenever i would unrack weights. I continued to train and the pain would only hurt on top sets but the pain started moving more so to hip area. Pain is mostly in over top hip and happens on all squat sets.
I was wondering if anyone experienced this before and besides rest is there any stretches or anything else I could do to speed along recovery. sorry for such a brief description.

I've had a similar thing happen before. I had a weird knot where your hamstring ties in that was pulling my hips out of alignment.
I sat on a lacrosse ball while driving and then also spent a couple appointments with the chiro and I was good to go.
Not sure if that's the same thing you're describing or not.

Sciatic nerve maybe?
My money at that point would be on finding a good deep tissue/ART guy and then keeping up on some stretching

I had something Similar but a little lower closer to my hips. Turns out it was similar to what Travis described. ART and foam rolling helped after a few weeks. Epsom salts baths also helped with the fatigue feeling
It sounds similar to what I deal with. Look up piriformis stretch. There's many different variations but if its what I'm thinking these should help.

Start with a Chiro guy. In the mean time start rolling the itbs, hams, low back, and glutes daily as well as stretching those areas. Any mobility work done now?

Thank you all for useful input. I definitely have added stretching in but mostly likely a little too late.
Hey Scott as far as mobility work, any suggestions?

Magnificent Mobility (Eric Cressey) has helped me.
Get to a chiropractor or an ART guy to get things loosened up. Second on the Cressey Mobility. Great stuff. If you don't fix it, it will cause you serious problems in the future.
