    critique my diet ratios?

Well, Im going to start slowly bulking again, starting off with a 3000 calorie diet.. Im using a 50/25/25 (carb/protein/fat) ratio.

    I currently weigh 140lbs....

    Daily: 3000 calories (50/25/25)
    1500 calories from carbs
    1500/4= 375g carbs daily
    750 calories from protein
    750/4= 187 grams protein daily
    750 calories from fat
    750/9= 83 grams fat daily

    Per Meal:
    375/6 = 62.5g carbs
    187/6 = 31g protein
    83/6 = 14g fat

How does that sound? If I dont see any progress after a few weeks, Ill up my food intake, but stick with these ratios...

    Everything look good?

I like it, looks good to me. For others, carbs may seem high, but I say go for it.
"It is often said, mainly by the "no-contests", that although there is no positive evidence for the existence of God, nor is there evidence against his existence. So it is best to keep an open mind and be agnostic. At first sight that seems an unassailable position, at least in the weak sense of Pascal's wager. But on second thought it seems a cop-out, because the same could be said of Father Christmas and tooth fairies. There may be fairies at the bottom of the garden. There is no evidence for it, but you can't prove that there aren't any, so shouldn't we be agnostic with respect to fairies?"

"Out of all of the sects in the world, we notice an uncanny coincidence: the overwhelming majority just happen to choose the one that their parents belong to. Not the sect that has the best evidence in its favour, the best miracles, the best moral code, the best cathedral, the best stained glass, the best music: when it comes to choosing from the smorgasbord of available religions, their potential virtues seem to count for nothing, compared to the matter of heredity. This is an unmistakable fact; nobody could seriously deny it. Yet people with full knowledge of the arbitrary nature of this heredity, somehow manage to go on believing in their religion, often with such fanaticism that they are prepared to murder people who follow a different one."

    Thanks for the reply Manveet...

Do you think other people would recommend a 40/30/30 ratio?

I'd go with higher protein too. I stay around 1.5 - 2x body weight, but that's just me.

I like that ratio for bulking. Personally I'd do that or iso caloric. Maybe a bit more protein but not absolutely necessary. I don't think with 187g of protein you should have any problems adding plenty of lean mass.

This is the exact diet im on right now. Same ratios & calories. I think the large amount of carbs ensures lots of energy for workouts and leaves the protein to help build muscle.

I was doing this at 2500 calories and lost two pounds, not my desired goal! So I've bumped it to 3000 and Ill see what happens.

    FYI:

I was eating 3900 cals. during my last bulk with an even higher carb. consumption, but similar ratios. I gained weight, but a lot of it was excess.

I dieted the weight off and am now bulking once again, but with a higher ratio of fats (40%) and lower carbs. (30%)

My gains are much more healthy this time and my energy is still way up there.

    Someth'in to think about.

Ive done this ratio before without much fat gain...so Im not too worried about the high carb ratio.

    what exactly is iso caloric?

also, Ive read a lot that it may be unhealthy to eat too much protein, with anything over 1.5g per pound of bodyweight being excessive. Im just over 1g per pound of bodyweight now, so i think i should be cool with protein...

Don't worry about the protein, the diet looks fine just the way you laid it out.
