Attention: Toronto area peeps

Hulky said it was ok if I posted this, so here goes:

My band CHODA is playing at JJQ's on February 3rd. We are the headliners, so if anyone in the area can come down that would be great!
We play all original music; heavy, but funky. Sort of like if you crossed Tool, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and throw in some Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine.

JJQ's is located at the corner of Hwy 27 and Rexdale Blvd behind the Mandarin Restaurant.

Have you heard about http://www.hearlive.com? It is a website(hope Hulk doesn't mind) that is for bands to get some exposure that they need.

My little brother is in a band - trying to make it.

They were mentioned on farmclub this week - they are ahead in the voting on the farmclub.com site (Although, most of the bands on farmclub are HS kids who suck)

Seems like it will be a good opportunity, if they win the voting for the month, they'll be on the TV show.

The Blonde is the main vocalist and keybord player - he's engaged.

He listens to lots of jazz. He's an awesome player... I think he'd rather play jazz than anything else. (You can hear him on some of the clips on the site.)

If you see us standing next to each other, you might be able to tell we are related, but we don't look all that much alike. The hair is almost the same... dark and curly. (Mine's cut short, tho) My goatee is thicker and neater. Our physiques don't compare. He's 6'1", about 240, around 30% bf. I'm 5'11", 220, 14% bf.

Really well FAngel, thanks for asking. Place was packed, peeps seemed to like it. Noone left, so I guess we didnt suck LOL...

Only bad thing was I stuck my foot in my mouth without intending. The singer for the band who opened for us was really good looking except he had a big beer belly and was walking around without a shirt on....I made a comment later (on stage) about how good looking he was, but that I thought my abs were showing a few less beers...apparently that was taken as being insulting....I dunno. If youre gonna show off a beer gut around someone with a six pack, be prepared....the girls al thought it was hilarious, but all the guys thought I was mean.

I said the guy was good looking, what more do they want?
Thats why I usually plan what Im going to say...I dont get into trouble that way.

Actually yeah g-man, we're doing an opening gig (on at 10pm off at 10:45)on Friday, March 2nd downtown TO at Queen and Bathurst called the Kathedral....MAJOR dive, but they keep asking us back, so who are we to turn it down? LOL...

Is that around the time you'll be around?

I'll officially be in my ripe old mid-20s on the 23rd(I'll be 24). Kat, what were those like? Or do you remember? I know it was quite some time ago, and everything is foggy with the altzheimers and all...

Good news - 26th through the 3rd I'll be in Canada.

Bad news - I'll be in Montreal, not Toronto.

Kat, ever go to Renot Depot for anything? That's my customer that I'm going to be wined and dined by. I know that they're pretty big in Canada.
