After lifting in the evening or after I get up in the morning? I am trying to cut now. So I was planning on doing morning cardio on tuesday and thursday since i lift at the gym on MWF. But cardio after lifting would be more convenient and plus I would have access to the machines instead of jogging on a trail.
Also... if I started doing cardio after workout, how long should the cardio be?
i think the general consensus is that you should do cardio 8-10 hours APART from weight training, but that's not awlays convienant for everyone. also, i've red doing cardio ona on an empty stomach 1st thing in the morn is best for burning fat.
i think the best cardio session for burning the most cals(during AND after) is a high intensity 30 min. session while keeping a 70-80% max HR.

If you want to do cardio post-workout keep it to 20-25 minutes tops at a moderate-intensity (as always) and make sure you get your post work out protein in ASAP so keep it in the locker room...
im going to be doing my cardio 20 min after i wake up and have my whey (with water)

best time is in the morning on the an empty stomach...
second best would be immediately after a workout....
at both times your estrogen levels are depleted ( morning because all night u haven't eaten, and after a workout because u used it all up during the weights) so your body automatically gets energy from fat stores first....
I would do it 30-45 minutes in the morning or a good 20 minutes at maybe 60-70% intensity

UCDFuBoO...you mean glycogen levels, right ?![]()
He must mean glycogen levels
The only problem with either of these two times is that cortisol levels are also high. If you do early morning cardio then IMO it is a good idea to consume a fast absorbing protein (whey) to help combat the cortisol levels without taking in carbs.
estrogen... glycogen... potatoe ... potahto... ok maybe not exactly the same... just trying to save face guys..
yes i meant glycogen... sorry bout that...

also after cardio make sure u drink a post-workout shake... consisting of 20-30 gs of protein with 30-40 grams of simple carbs like dextrose or something of that sort....

Ok I guess I'll try and stick with morning cardio. Should I do it interval training style or just a flat 30 minute run?
Mix it up, variety will help to maintain gains for longerOk I guess I'll try and stick with morning cardio. Should I do it interval training style or just a flat 30 minute run?
well with cardio in the morning u really cant' mix it up... it's THE best time to do cardio and your losing weight not making gains... so mixing it up would not be necessary... IMO ofcoarse
