I benched 200lbs the first time I ever tried it at 15 years old. I used to do crazy weights on the legpress, too - at least crazy compared with the other kids my age.

I was 12 too and curled 5lbs dumbells for 100 reps every night on each arm in an attempt to get big biceps

started a year ago with some lame low numbers.. bench was about 80, curl was about 45-50 (bar).. leg press was 150.. didn't squat or DL.

i've been an IT guy my whole life with no real physical job, hence my weak strength.. however i'm pretty happy with the gains i've made so far (been working out serious for about 6 months now)...

    bench is about 185-190
deadlift is uhm 270 or so
    legpress is 300
    squat = don't do it
    curl - 85lb (bar)
military press = 130 sitting down and 100-110 standing up

so yeah im getting there.. i have a large frame (43" chest and some wide ass shoulders/legs) so in a year or two i should look real good..

my previous mistake was keeping fitness out of my life, well now its going to be a regular part of my life until i die.

Spawn, Craig does not lie. I have known him forever and he is as straight as they come. Craig is a naturally very muscular guy. He was always known for his muscles, especially when we were young.

As to mine, ohhh you really don't want to know. The first time I remember trying to bench was with Craig at La Camarilla (I was 14 or 15 at the time), a tennis club his folks belonged to. I remember we put 135 lbs on the bench and I could not get it . I was a puss!!! I was also a bit of a late developer. I didn't really lift again until the summer before my senior year in high school and I started on the Universal bench because I was so weak. I also remember 135 feeling quite heavy on the squats when I started (not as bad as the bench, but heavy). My strong points were pulldowns and curls, but I don't remember what I used.

Lets see.....I can remember being in 7th grade and having our PE coach have us bench press. I think I got like 80 lbs. Never touched a weight after that, because I hated lifting (how ironic).

Cut to 12th grade. Due to a schedule shake-up, I found myself in a weight-training class. After not touching a weight since I was 13, I managed to barely bench press 135x1 at a bw of 125.

I was 14. Benched 95 for 8. I also could do lots of weight on leg press and other leg machines when I first started. If I can remember correctly I was pressing around 650 for a few reps on leg press when I first started. Curl was like 75lbs for 10 reps. My curls have not gone up a whole lot. Curling is my weak point, I think it has to do with my forearm injury.

Yeah it's possible with natural muscle like Chris said. I actually know this not because I could do it at that age (I wish) but my friend who not only doesn't train but is pretty much sedentary benched 230 in gr.10 PE. Yes my jaw dropped also...

i withdraw my comments but still find it impossible to bench 200 at 15 with no previous training experience.

Just so you know, my bench didn't get any better over the course of the next 3 years, probably because my training was so terrible. My senior year I was struggling to push up 225lbs. I did eventually (with a little 'supplementation') get my bench up to 355lbs...

I never really trained much until last year...but I remember in my odd stints in the gym benching about 185 for 3 or 4, and I actually remember deadlifting, yes deadlifting. I remeber saying how I did 300lbs, but I think that might be high and my memory is hazy so it may or may not be accurate. But that was back when I was 15 or 16 and 175lbs.

I never trained for more than 3 or 4 consecutive weeks before last year. I remember being pissed at how weak I was cuz a couple of my friends could bench 200 and i couldn't. Heh now those same people have their memories of how impressive 200 was as I am sure I could bench 300 now.

Spawn, don't be an ass. It's quite possible. There are people out there who have done it. I'm an incredibly weak bencher, so it's out of the ballpark for me. But the first time I ever did chins I could strap on a 30-40 and do reps. There are some people who first time out can squat 300lbs. It's incredible, but it happens.
