    wooster's journal

I've tried writing a journal before, but this time I'm gonna stick to it. I thought now would be a good time to start since I'm maxing out this week. Kinda gives me a starting point I guess.

I thought I should add a little about myself to the journal, just in case someone actually reads it. I'm 16 years old, 17 in a month, 6'1", roughly 175 pounds. I lifted for a while about a year ago, then stopped. Just started again a couple weeks ago. I'm actually lifting in a class now, which has its advantages and disadvantages. This way I am forced to lift everyday, and there are always plenty of spotters. But also, I have to listen to a dumbass of a teacher, and follow the crap routine that he had a student make up last year. My personal goals are: stay around the same weight for a while but gain definition and a little mass, bench 200 (one rep), squat 400, barbell curl 75 pounds for reps, and do 450 on the calf raise machine(god, i love calves). Those are pretty reasonable, attainable goals to me.

Today sucked!!! I need to get the calories way up!
    Calories-1930
    Fat-23 g-209 cals-11%
    Carbs-325 g-1259 cals-66%
    Protein-109 g-437 cals-23%
Could have been worse, but could have been better.

Anywayz, we started maxing today. We did bench today. I wasn't feeling too good and maxed out at 165, which is bull**** since I've been using 155 for reps. Oh well, I get to try again on Friday. But tommorrow is powerclean day. My plan is to concentrate on my technique, get a little more of a warmup, and eat a better breakfast. That should help quite a bit. My goal is 175, which shouldn't be too hard. Now its time for sleep, cuz I can't lift if I'm tired.

    GRRRRR!!!!!!!
    Another crap day!
I have just felt like ass the last couple days.
I got plenty of calories, but I need to lower my fat % a little, and raise my protein.

    Calories-3452
    Fat-104 g- 933 cals- 27%
    Carbs-481 g- 1795 cals- 53%
    Protein-169 g- 677 cals- 20%

Maxed in powerclean today in class. That was not a good start to my day. I know I could have gotten 175, but I wasn't feeling too strong. I ended up only getting 150, which isn't too bad I guess. It just ticks me off that my lifts have gone down since last year. Of course, that might be because I was in football then, so I was in a LOT better shape. Oh well, I'm not gonna let powerclean get me down. I'll just have to work a little harder is all. But I better be able to squat more this year. I think I've made a lot of progress lately, and I'm hoping to hit 400. Not positive if I can get that though, so I'm gonna start around 350 and work my way up.

Today was almost worthless. My strength training teacher had to go to some convention or something, so we didn't even have class. I wish I belonged to a gym somewhere so I could have lifted on my own today. I was feeling pretty good. Maybe the day off was good for me though. My dad decided to join a gym close to home though. He said if I want, I can join with him. With the deal he's got that will only cost me 144 for the next 15 months! That seemed pretty bad ass to me. That's 10 bucks a month.

Diet wasn't too hot, but I didn't do anything so I didn't burn any cals.

    Carbs-275 g- 1066 cals- 46%
    Protein-161 g- 644 cals- 28%

Tommorrow is squat day, and I'm ready to go nuts. I am so pumped for this s***, but I'm also ready to get back to the regular lifting schedule. I haven't done deadlifts in over a week!!!! Well, I need sleep if I'm gonna get a good lift tommorrow.

Once again, not much lifting today. We were supposed to max out on squat today, but they never get up to my weight. I can't believe how many guys were maxing out on 100 pounds. But I did lift 175 on bench, which is 10 pounds more than I lifted at the beginning of the week. It really wasn't too tough either. I'm going for 185 next time I get a chance in class.

Diet wasn't too hot today. Barely any fat, and not too many cals either.

    Calories-2204
    Fat-15 g- 131 cals- 6%
    Carbs-403 g- 1590 cals- 72%
    Protein-122 g- 488 cals- 22%

Tommorrow I'm going to visit a friend of mine at college. That should be interesting. She asked me to write up a routine for her to lift with, so I'm gonna show her how to do the lifts in the afternoon. Then, we are going to do some mega-partying all night long. Lots of alcohol. But a day off will be awesome. And I will still get more lifting in than I have been getting.

The last couple days don't even deserve entries. Today wasn't good either. Kinda hurt my back when a girl in class jumped on my back when I was stretching. I would have been pissed, but she was so dang cute(At least I got a number out of the deal). It brought my squat down to 315 though, and my power clean was 155. So, my max lifts have stayed the same since last year. I really need to get those up. I still don't think we are gonna lift tommorrow either. This class is starting to piss me off.

Yep, I was right, didn't lift today either. We are going back tommorrow, FINALLY! It's gonna feel good to be lifting again. I haven't lifted in like 2 weeks. I really wish I had my gym membership now.

WE ACTUALLY GOT TO LIFT TODAY!!!!!!!
Diet wasn't too bad today, not bad at all. I got it right about where I want it to be. A few more calories wouldn't hurt, but not too many.

    Calories-2261
    Fat-15g-135 cals-6%
    Carbs-379g-1466 cals-66%
    Protein-158g-633 cals-28%

Lifting went pretty well. I had a pretty good day. Finally got to deadlift again! It was kinda rough though. I could really tell that I hadn't lifted in a while.

    Flat BB bench-155x3x3
    Deadlift-275lbs-3x3
    Lateral Pulldowns-100lbs-2x10
    BB Curls-55lbs-2x10
    Tricep Cable Extensions-60lbs-2x10
    Calf Raises-360lbs-2x10
    Leg Extensions-120lbs-2x10

Hopefully, now that I finally got a chance to print my routine I can get some input. That would be wonderful. I can't change the routine too much since I'm being graded on it, but I can add to it. If anyone sees something different I should be doing, let me know!

Diet wasn't bad today. Kept the fat low, protein pretty high, but the cals were a little low for my liking.
    Cals-1834
    Fat-12g-110 cals-6%
    Carbs-329g-1228 cals-68%
    Protein-120g-480 cals-26%

Lifting went pretty well today. Wasn't a real tough day, but it wasn't easy. I was a little worn out from Incline bench, so I lowered my flat bench a bit.

    Incline BB Bench-95lbs-2x10
    Military Press-85lbs-1x10
    Tricep Extensions-60lbs-2x10
    Leg Curls-50lbs-2x10
    Flat BB Bench-135lbs-3x3
    Power Clean-135-3x3

Tommorrow is squat day! Almost as exciting as deadlift day, but not quite.

Workout was pretty good. We went pretty hard, and I was feeling the rest of the day...and the next.

Didn't write down my diet today...so I don't have much to say about that.

And we didn't lift today. It was a conditioning and calisthenics day. So that sucks too.

Diet was good today, but I didn't write anything down.

Workout was intense. I lifted my max on bench at the end of my sets. I really wore myself out though, so I didn't do military press like I was supposed to.

    Flat BB Bench-135x5, 145x4, 155x3, 165x2, 175x1

    Squat day tommorrow!!

Haven't written anything down cuz I haven'y lifted much lately. Didn't have school for a couple days, but I did go to the gym a couple times. Mostly just did some real light weights, then some cardio.

Pretty much stopped keeping track of diet. I know what's good for me, and I try to eat that.

Workout was pretty nice. I got in trouble for lifting too hard though(yeah, the teacher is retarded). He said if I didn't stop deadlifting so hard, I would pass out. Maybe I should work on my breathing, cuz I was feeling a little light headed.

Workout was just kinda ehh. Wasn't feeling too great, and my back was kinda sore from deads yesterday. It really sucks that we are lifting 3 days in a row. I like having a day off in between.

Good to see you consistently posting

Sorry for the ignorance but if you don't have a gym membership, where exactly are you doing your lifts.

Also, why are you not keeping track of your diet??

Franjipani- I lift at school, for a class. And, I'm not keeping track of my diet becuz I've got it pretty consistent now. I eat almost the same thing everyday, with very little variation. It's just less typing that I have to do.

Not a bad workout day. I was feeling pretty good. Not lifting again for class until next Wednesday. I can't decide if I want to go to the gym sometime between now and then, or just rest til then.

Not the greatest day. I wore out my arms early, and almost couldn't do powercleans. I used my legs a lot more than I usually do.

    Incline BB Bench-95 lbs-2x10

Tonight I went to the gym. Lifted a little just to warm up. Did some light leg presses, bench, curls, and tricep extensions. Then went and kicked my own ass at racquetball. GREAT GAME!!

Yo! I used to live in Bloomington. I just saw an episode of "Rock the House" where Tommy Lee went to some dude's house in Washington, Il and made his garage into hell. It was pretty cool.

Corn and pavement....that's all Illy had.
