Nice site and board you all have here. I feel old (40) seeing all these pics of this young fellas, but figured I could use some constructive critisism.
I'm just getting back into weight training after more than a 2 year layoff due to a torn shoulder. The pics you'll see I consider my before pics and are rehab pics using the Total Gym. Yes, I fell for the informercial
I'm 5'8" 150lbs in these pics. Even some training tips would be appreciated as I've been out of "the game" for a while.
Peace all.

As you can see, all my definition is gone. 2 year layoff will do that to you. Amazing how you workout for so long, stop for a while and everything goes bye bye![]()

Damn, man, you look excellent for your weight. Still pretty lean, I wish I could retain that mass after 2 years off.
Definitely looking very good.

Jeez, that's after a 2 year layoff? You still maintained quite abit of mass without gaining much fat. Post your goals and training routine and I'm sure you'll get whatever help you need, though it looks like you know what you're doing.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
Thanks to all for the encouraging words. Makes me motivated.
I guess I kept the fat off because since I could only use the Total Gym for working out without having any considerable pain, I did have a lot of time to use my treadmill.
I am currently on the following routine:
1. Leg Press (kness are bad so I can't really squat too much)
2. Bench Press
3. Weighted Dips
4. Weighted Chins
5. Bent Over Rows
6. Seated Shoulder Press
Only 2 sets of each, heavy as I can, 3 times a week. Similar to the Mentzer HIT system I guess.
I'm the type that can over train easily because I don't weigh a lot, so I need to get in, lift hard, and get out.
Any suggestions to the above routine are welcomed. I also continue to use the treadmill 2 to 3 times a week. Need to in order to keep up with my child.
Thanks again to everyone who replied. You make a 40 year old feel at least 39![]()

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Let us see some pics from before your layoff. You obviously didn't sit around and do nothing during your layoff.

Now that was funny. I'm just glad it stopped there and didn't keep going down my back. I don't know how some you guys stay soooo smooth.
I shaved my chest once when I was in college and working out. Never again. The itch was unbearable. I'm sure now they have better ways.
