Smashing Machine: The Life and Times of Mark Kerr

Anyone watch this special on hbo?

    **small spoiler below:
I jumped out of my when i saw how much gear the guy had to throw away...no wonder the dude was in the hospital. How can someone use that much crap and not expect to end up in the hospital??
I'm not knockin gear, but that guy had a whole shopping bag full of it!

Yeah that was morphine or some other type of opiate. I was kind of surprised they would show him shooting up dope and then make no mention of steroid use. Maybe they left it out because he thought it would hurt the sport. I know Pride doesnt test and the UFC just started testing recently so I'm pretty sure he did. He is also a diabetic so that could explain some of his vast collection of syringes.

Btw if any of you ever visit the sherdog forums Bas Rutten is very active on the "ask the fighters" forum. He has answered a lot of questions the last few days about about Mark Kerr and the documentary.

I watched it on Monday. That was a great documentary. Gave me a whole new appreciation for Mark Kerr and Mark Coleman. Those guys go through some serious ****. Kind of reminded me of that one about the WWF. I think all mixed martial arts fans should see it.

They were opiates. Yeah, Kerr wasn't happy when the Japanese doctors told him they didn't have any.

    Bas Rutten's the man.

Yeah ive never really watched UFC type stuff before....but my god it was brutal. Those guys can take a beating. Personally, its not something I'd look into as a career option heh, but it made me realize how tough those guys are, and what they have to go through.
