I was told tuna has mercury and that I should not take more than 2/per week .. I currently eat 30 a week. The purpose of training is also to stay healthy, so I was wondering which other protein source is as cheap as tuna?

Hamburger, if you are bulking. Chicken isn't that much more expensive than tuna, either.

Chicken
- 6 boneless/skinless breasts - $10 (max - I pay 6.99)
- 50gm protein each, 300gm total
- 300/10 = 30
- SO, 30gm protein for a dollar @ $10 (42gm/dollar @ 6.99)
Eggs
- Price and protein content depend on size of eggs, but I'm sure it must be the cheapest source out there. A dozen eggs are usually only around $1.39.
Cottage cheese.

"Test all things; hold fast what is good.": 1 Thessalonians 5:21
"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

For some reason cottage cheese is the hardest **** for me to get down my throat.
Does 1 boneless skinless chicken breast really have 50gm of protein?! If that's true I'm getting WAAAAAAAAYYYYY too much protein. I've read that 4 oz. of chicken has like 19-24 gms of protein so I figured 4 oz. was like one breast. I don't have a food scale so I can't weigh any of my meats.
On average I've been eating about 4-5 chicken breasts, 6 HB eggs, and a can of tuna which I know has 32 gms of protein. Plus if I get hungry at night I mix up a small casein/whey shake, that's another 22 gms.
Could some one state how much protein on average a chicken breast has?
Thanks
THis has been ****ing me of too. I found out that 100 grams of chicken breast has 16 grams of protein. Then I weighed a nice big chicken breast and it weighed 150 grams so that would mean it it had 24 grams of protein.
Hope that helps.

About cottage cheese, isn't this dairy product? like milk? good?

cottage cheese=dairy
Excellent source of casein, as with milk for those who don't know.
MWB - who knows what's "average?" My chicken breasts that I've been eating since I can remember have 48 g protein each. You may have always eaten smaller ones with much less protein, so I don't think that I would trust the protein contents of an "average" chicken breast. Look at the nutritional facts on the package. If your chicken doesn't include nutritional facts, buy some that does.
Cottage cheese - a great source of LACTOSE too
Gino- I know it's tough to tell what's average. I'm going out today to get a food scale so I can keep track more accurately.
4 oz of chicken breast has about 35g pro
that's about 8.75g pro per ounce.
That's 140 g pro in a pound.
I just bought 5 pounds of protein from the protein factory, with about 400g of pro in each pound (as I recall)
I spent about $40 (a little less)
That's 8 bucks a pound - for 400g pro, that's $.02 a gram.
The best price on chicken I've seen is $1.99 a pound, for 140g protein.
That's $.014 per gram.
Protein factory is about as low cost as you can get for protein powder, and it's still more expensive than what I pay for chicken.
I get 2.5 dozen eggs from wal-mart for $2.50. But something tells me that Sinep is not in the U.S.
Veni, Vidi, Vici
Sardines! not as much protein per tin, but just eat twoand theres more EFA's and theres good calcium and iron, its just good stuff and its now part of my diet.
coscto/price club
