    Haha. Touché.

No one really performed in the first half.

Feel free to brag away, you've certainly earned it.

I was interested in seeing how the young 'uns performed (they actually outshined the senior squad).

There was a big hoo-ha about Rooney getting his game, but he didn't really do much if you ask me. The real starlett for me was Jenas, and i'm not just saying that cause he plays for me team either.

P.s. I really want Bret Emerton to sign for the Toon.

Oh yes, and Michael Owen would be lucky to start a game for first division side if i was manager.

He can still weave between players, but his finishing is seriously appalling.

its wierd with the soccer players over here....i mean everyone knows about kewel and viduka but there are some really class players that dont exactly get a lot of recognition here.....

i was pretty surprised that they won tho....i had ot leave for work when ingerland scored and just thought ah crap they (oz) fudged it again......

btw how old is this rooney fellow?

He only turned seventeen a couple of months ago.

Of the Oz squad, i've heard of Bret, Harry, mark, Paul Okon and mark Scwarzer (the keeper, i can't spell his name right).

Does anyone else think that Bret Emerton looks like the bad guy from Charlies Angels? The one who has his hair ina tight middle parting and smokes cigarettes like a right homo?

Just an observation i made a few months ago when Newcastle played Feyenord.

Edit: i know of John Aloisi and Lazaridis too.

If Sven had fielded some decent strikers then we would have quite possibly walked off at half time a goal or two up.

James Beattie is decent, but not England striker status by a mile.

And Michael Owen is useless unless he puts away the chances.

As much as i hate to say it, cause i really hate the lad, i'd have given Alan Smith a run out. At least he can finish given the opportunity.

lol, the 1st thing that came through my mind when i saw the scores on the news when i was on holidays up in queensland was that old thread started up a while ago... prop's goes to your youth team in the 2nd half though, the 1st half team didnt give us the recognition we deserved, n when they relised we were better than they expected, it was too late..

I m sorry but why did you reserve recognition from England? They were not playing Brazil nor were they playing Argentina..

You have a team that has inproved through the last years but you have yet to qualify to a world cup to get more recognition.

Smith wasn't called up, although he should of been. I cant understand Jeffers being in there, alright he was good at Everton, but when was the last time you heard of him performing to that standard.

Whereas Smith has been a regular in the Leeds side and he has international qualities.

Did anyone else notice that when Kewell left the pitch that the Australians appeared 1-dimensional?

That's cause Harry Kewell is f**king brilliant.

Apparently we've been rechalleneged by Oz to a rematch not so near cup games, cause they (the team) don't believe we were taking it seriously.

It'll be interesting to see how that pans out.

    yup;

personally CD i would like to see Shearer return to the international scene, he may have lost some of his pace and spark from his younger days, buts his experience, finishing ability and positioning is out of this world.
