    Reporting back on liquid creatine

I said I'd come back after testing both powder and liquid creatine. I have finished testing same. Here is what happened with me.

I used the powder for about a month and a half, using the recommended amounts. It works.

I then used no creatine for about a month, then started liquid creatine, using the recommended amounts. It also worked.

The liquid is more expenssive, but is very much handier to use, and the only visible sign for either powder or liquid (muscles pumped up all the time look) was greater and more consistant for me with the liquid.

Since I don't have a problem spending the extra cash, I'm going to go with the liquid.

Other consideration: some of you said that the liquid is NOT creatine, but is CREATINEN (sp?), and may be hard on the liver or kidney (I can't remember which). This may be somewhat true -- I have no way to test it, but it seems logical to me that if it is not creatine, there would be no "pumped-up" look after using it. Nevertheless, unsafe "stuff" is a really serious thing, so, I will try to find an MD or Nutritionalist who has suficient knowledge to tell me "whats what," and I'll go with the answer to the question I put to them.

liquid creatine has not been invented yet

a single supp cannot have a major difference in training

your evaluation means nothing to those of us who have the facts and understand the science behind it

creatine turns into creatinine when put in liquid very quickly creatinine cannot convert to creatine phospate which is the form it takes in a muscle cell

good luck finding a doctor or nutritionist LOL

my doctor told me not to take it because it's a carcinogen LOL

doctors get about 8hrs training in nutrition

nutritionist are all idiots (at least every one I ever talked to)

if you trust someone that takes a weekend course to be certified you may as well ask a personal trainer at a 24hr fitness

    Were the gains significant

    Body:

As to whether the gain was significant, I guess it depends on ones perspective. I could see the difference, although it wasn't much.

A short aside on placebos: If a placebo works, it's better than drugs, natural or otherwise.

well its siginifacant for you, if the price of the creatine was worht the gains.

for a general study it be like 95% (forgot the full name for what the 95% is).

    Your correct, it's significant

    Your correct, Body:

You hit the nail on the head, I spend more for liquid (which, of course doesn't exist), therefore it is at least that significant for me.

First of all, let's define the word "works." What do you mean by it "works?" Go off of both to see if no creatine at all "works." Liquid creatine is poo.

I agree with holto. I took liquid creatine a few years ago and the only thing I noticed from it was an immediate energy boost from it because it had a fair amount of sugars in it. The studies I've since read though have stated that there is only one patent for stable liquid creatine, and guess what - that patent ISN'T by a supplement company. Rather, it's by some farm. Needless to say, liquid creatine, along with 99% of all other supplements, are horse crap.

    Definition of "works."

I thought my short description would be enough to tell anyone interested if/how well liquid creatine "does" (works), I was obviously wrong. That's OK, it happened to me once before . The definition of "works" will have to be what I think it means; the definition others may give it is up to them. My definition: I could tell a possitive difference as a result of taking creatine (liquid in this case). The difference was a vanity thing mostly; the difference is the apparent constant "pumped look." Does it increase my ability or strength? Psychologically yes (there's that placebo effect again), but my shallow "experiment " was WAY too short to tell the actual physical effect/result of creatine.

If I were going to go on what I've read in the "stickies" and on other Internet sites, I'd say it probably does make a difference, although, for most people the actual benefit is probably outweighed by the vanity effect. But, that's just my "guess." Those of you who are serious competitors probably have a better grasp of these things than I, and have different goals/objectives than I -- so, I'll gladly read whatever you (and others, since I don't know who is or isn't knowledgeable) have to say.

Opinions are like armpits, most people have at least one. And, if you disagree with me, that's OK. I TOTALLY support your right to your ridiculous opinion

My workouts contributed more to my "pumped look" more than my creatine actually did...that's just in my experience.

    St. Velkro:

since we can't appeal to your understanding of science

    I'll try business...

the companies that allegedly have a liquid creatine product could make more money selling the PATENT (which dosen't exist)

to companies such as EAS who have a large market share

you see they would make way more money selling the patent then they do selling the product

when I said liquid creatine hasn't been invented yet

    here is what I meant

the companies that are rip off artists take creatine monohydrate powder and add some vitamins and a **** load of sugar

as explained above the creatine begins to degrade into creatinine very quickly

by the time you squirt it in your mouth there is nothing in there that your body can make use of except the sugar and vitamins

clinical lab analysis shows about 1 gram per bottle

if you don't believe me you will in a year or two

the Federal Trade Commision has made a move on some of these companies for fraudulent activity

It's funny how you try to sound all "holier than thou" with all that nonsense babble and jargon. Please tell me, how does this creatine give you a "constant pumped look" when its ads even say "won't cause water retention?"

I feel sorry for you if you need to fork out a bunch of money each month to give yourself a "placebo effect" in weight training.

This was posted by powermanDL in a previous thread about liquid creatine. Could be the reason for the "pumped look."

The serum products have also been known to use glycerol, which causes a water retention effect similar to creatine, but doesn't aid in ATP-CP metabolism the way creatine does.
