Does powerlifting require the same kind of diet as bodybuilding?
Depends on the powerlifter.
Most still focus on getting plenty of protein and good fats, but other than that, don't need to pay as much attention.
All PLers still need to make weight, and many, especially in the lighter classes, use diet to get down into a class.
Squats work better than supplements.
