yeah, i thought that wizard of oz thing was kinda out of left field. didn't make much sense.

as for susan - remember - pinkie told him she was with sheemie and good to go, prior to battle. he didn't find out what really happened til after.

I am not talking about her being in danger. He planned on leaving her anyways after seeing the tower. Said someone else could raise the baby in time she would get over him

It does have a long dry period. Stephen King does that alot. By putting so much detail and trying to create a world.
I just read Buick 8, it moves along good after about 15 pages.

wow i jsut now got around to reading the prologue to Dark Tower 5.

i can't believe father Callahan is in it. I bet that thing unde rhis floorboards is either the pink one or the blue one. it would be cooler if it's the Blue one, since we already know what the pink one does.

Its funny I enjoy almost every book written by King, but when it comes to the dark tower ..mm I dont know I read the Wastelands and found it a little bit slow and not so good.

hmm. I am going to pick up this series. it sounds interesting. Ive read a lot of Stephen King back in HS, but this series never seemed that interesting. Sounds cool now that im older, though.

bigmofo - might be that you read wastelands out of context. it makes much more sense if you've read Gunslinger first.

The first time I read the Gunslinger I thought it was a little boring. Second time seemed better. That was 16 years later too. Wastelands has quite a bit going on I thought.

I read the first three in about 2 months, but I got only as far as rolland and susan meeting in the fourth book. After a few months I picked up Wizard and Glass again and I got totally into it. Trust me, it gets more exiting as you read on. I didnt even know there was going to be a part five...I cant wait.

The series is amazing. Also be sure to read Insomnia, as it touches on the Tower. There are a few others, I just can't think of them at the moment. I noticed a lot of people say W&G was slow, but I thought it was awesome. I couldn't put it down and read it in a day.

On the site it list the books that have corssovers. I haqve insomnia but haven't read it. Rose Madder(not the house one), hearts in atlantis, eyes of the dragon. Some of the links are weak. Though there is a short story with roland in ... brain fart.

Some of the winks are weak, just that there is another universe. Tailsman does too.

First comes the smiles, then lies, Last is gunfire-Roland Deschain of Gilead.

I ws hoping the book would start off closer to the prologue. But he likes to drag things out.
