From the "what do you all do" thread I realised how many of us are students. So what do y'all study? And what do you intend to do with it?

Me - BSc (hons) in Molecular Cell Biology

i am in my first semester of college, after a 6 year break from school, i decided to take 3 courses that interested me, and see if one in particular sparked enough interest to help me decide on a major.

i took psychology, health ed, and small business management

the business class served its purpose for me wanting to open a gym, or small chain of gyms.

i could have taught the health class myself, i may take more classes in the future, damn prerequisites

psychology is fascinating, i am going to stick with this as a major probably.

i am studying architecture now. its pretty damn cool, although a lot of work and time are devoted to it. i used to study computer science, but i felt too constrained programming, so i went to psychology a little bit, but again didnt feel at home. i feel pretty happy where im at now though..

Sciences were my strong point in highschool, so I loaded up on them for my first year on university. In my second semister I took an economics course cause it seemed interesting to me. Oddly enough, I barely pass one of my science courses and get an A in my economics, my best mark. So I'm stuck at not knowing what to do next.

My grades were poo awful this past year (my first year) so I won't be going into any faculties that I want to. Right now though, my plan is to pull up my grades so I can get into commerce the year after and have a major in finance and as well, I plan on getting some science degree like biology or chem so I can be a rich billionare by day, and scientist/crime fighter by night like Bruce Wayne.

My BS and MS are in mechanical engineering, and I also did a concentration in applied math as part of my graduate program. I'm currently taking class in the life sciences (biology, organic chem, etc.) because I'm thinking seriously about a doctoral program in biophysics or bioengineering.

My major is actually Agriscience. This summer session I'm taking Organic Chemistry and Molecular Biology (at the same time

) In the fall I will start the classes for my specialization in Animal Science. The spring leaves a few odds and ends to finish up before I graduate.

I`m in the beforelast year of high school.
high school in holland can be

technic - handwork stuff. carpenters, painters, bakers, bricklayers
electricians, some ict work

VMBO - 4 year HS education, all directions possible at a low level.

havo - 5 year HS education. some harder, all directions possible

vwo - 6 year HS education, hardest, all directions possible.

tto - vwo adjusted to give students full fluency in the english language.

gymnasium - VWO with Latin and greek

tto gymnasium - tto with latin and greek

70% of students do not get higher than vmbo.
technic students work with companies and perhaps start for themselves later on
MBO is college for vmbo people
hbo is college for havo people
vwo and up allow you into universities.

In havo and up you can choose the following programs
in order from cultural to scientific
Culture and Society
Economy and Society
Science and Health
Science and Technology

these programs have a fixed set of subjects that are the most important. then you have some free space to choose a subject.

I do tto, Science and Technology and chose Biology with it.
This in fact makes it both science and technology and science and health.

After HS i plan to study medicine in university in Maastricht, south east holland.

long story. but now you know how the dutch education system works. whoopie f*ck
