Ears Pierced
Ok, so I went to the mall today and got my ears pierced. No biggie there. However, now that I look at the studs I chose, I can see that I don't like them.
Other then patience and twice a day cleanings, what can I do to quicken the healing process? I don't want to wait 6 weeks to change these guys.Maki Fit Blog

Dude I think prety much you can just take them out. I did mine at home back in the day and did it with a gold one. So just get somthin gold (as long as that's not an issue with your skin) and clean it often. I think they just want to see how many people will keep those in.

the person who pierced my ear told me to keep twisting it so that the blood doesn't "cake" and so that the hole won't close up. I took mine out in 2 weeks, just switch it really fast or else it closes up pretty quickly.

*smacks forehead* please...for the love of god......don't....get your ears pierced at the mall anymore. Go to a tatoo shop that does piercing. Really, it's safer. And you wont have to wear stupid looking earrings in yourears, you can get anyyyyything ya want in there.

be QUICK about the changing - i would wait at least a week though
and make sure your hands and the new studs/rings/whatever have been sanitized or you are asking for a massive infection in the unhealed area.Size is SEXY!

you can change it, just do it quickly so the hole doesn't close up.

So the hole will close in a matter of seconds or minutes during the process of changing it?

It's possible for the hole to close almost instantaneously, but if you just got it pierced through the lobe then it shouldn't be too bad. Even if it does close up some, it's just an ear lobe and it doesn't hurt much. Now when my other body piercings closed up and I tried to go back through - OUCH!Originally posted by Maki Riddington

I dont think it will close up that fast. Your body will heal itself on contact as soon as it hits air. Just like one of the creatures on star trek or soemthing. Wait a week and keep it clean then change it with some thing gold. Why did you get both ears done? That use to mean bad things, like hey im gay when I was younger. I gues things have changed. I had mine done and had it out forl like 2 years and it never closed. It was healled though when I took it out.

OKay. I've had six different ear piercings and five were done by me. I've noticed that if I use Neosprin on it helps it close a bit quicker. I would wait a week or week and a half. The only thing that can go wrong is that the hole wont be completely close so the new stud needs to be clean. And since it's not completely closed puttingin the fron hole will be easy but havinf exit the back lobe while require work.You will have move it aroung inside your earlobe untill you locate the rear hole. This will make you lobe swell up a bit. So that is why you need to wait a little while to allow it heal enough.

Bah, pansies. I pierced my own about a 9 months ago and I didn't like the studs I pierced them with either. So I believe the day after I put in little hoops. It hurts sticking them through while it's still so tender, but like the others said it's just an ear lobe.
Just make sure you don't buy a pair of hoops for $2.50 because those are the ones that irritate your ear when it's not healed up first. My lobes were swollen for like 2 weeks before I realized it was the crappy earings aggravating them.accuflex - LOLZZZZ!!!11one1!! SOEM PPL WORK THRE ARMZ!!!!11!! LETS KILL THEM111

And on a random note. I haven't had an ear ring in my ear since about 5 years ago. I noticed my wife had this huge arse gold hoop ear ring next to the sink last night. I was like wow I would look like a friggin pirate with this and kinda just held it up to my ear and tried to put it in. Much to my surprise it went in with no problem. Weird 5 years nothing in it at all I though it was grown over... err ok done being random, well in this particular thread anyway...

:withstupi You have about 20 secs tops to switch them. I tried this 1 week after my ears wear peirced and the hole closed before I got the new one in. I had to force the old stud back in repeircing my ear so I would have 2 matching studs. I waited 1 month before trying this again and had no problems then.Originally posted by raniali
