im tring to do a hit style training but im finding it very hard to do all these exercises in 1 day, like im starting weight lifting again from like a year layoff and my heart isnt in good condition. even putting onm weight gets me breathing hard.like if i do squats im out for like 10-15 min. then i can do the next exercise very slow like im tired. even pulldowns do this to me. i want to keep doing hit but can i di it like a 4-5 day split? or what do you suggest?

    thanks,
    big calvin

I suggest that you start out with even fewer exercises than you will eventually use (i.e. squat, bench, row) until you get into better shape. It should only take a couple of weeks until you have the aerobic capacity to do your full routine. I have personally never liked doing the entire body in one session. I would recommend you split the upper and lower body into two different routines and train 1 on 1 off followed by 1 on 2 off etc... In other words, do upper body on Monday then rest on Tuesday followed by lower body on Wednesday and rest on Thursday. Upper body on Friday and then take Sat. and Sun. off and hit lower body on Mon. and so on....

thanks, but do you mean to start off like day 1:squat and rows then day 2:bench press and military press ? what if i can do like a 2 days on/1 day off 2 days on/2 days off? would that be better?

    thanks again.

You know, a couple of years ago I would have said yes, but now I think you should stick with the routine I just outlined and see how it goes. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
