Hi all,
I am new here and I just began weightlifting and I have a quick question:
When lowering the weight, do I have to touch my chest?
I am currently lowering the bar about 3" from touching my chest, similar to how I do a push up. Do I benefit from touching my chest with the bar? I tried to search the board and someone posted that, if your arm is parallel to the floor it is fine, but someone in the gym told me that I get the full range of motion and I will benefit more if I lower the bar to my chest.
Thank you so much.

yup, go down at a slower pace, touch your chest for a second, then explode up, eat, sleep, repeat

Yep. Bring it all the way to your chest, but don't bounce it off.
And change your name. It's disgusting! tuttut
