    ingenious if you ask me

"Before sending their teen to Tranquility, parents are advised that it might be prudent to keep their plan a secret, and employ an approved escort service to break the news. The first most teenagers hear of Tranquility is therefore when they are woken from their beds at home at 4am by guards, who place them in a van, handcuffed if necessary, drive them to an airport and fly them to Jamaica. The child will not be allowed to speak to his or her parents for up to six months, or see them for up to a year."
My profile picture is about 5 years old, I'll get around to taking some progress pics eventually.

Good, some punk kids deserve it. Even though its probably the parents fault that they end up that way...

I really don't think it's the parents fault their children end up the way they do.... maybe sometimes, but not always. Ultimately, as the child grows up they make thier own decisions. I take offense to that statement primarily because I see my mother always saying how she never did a good job raising us kids and that's why my brother turned out the way he did. Frankly, my brother chooses to be an alcoholic, he chooses to do drugs, and he chooses to do all the other past/present activities he does that get him into legal problems. Maybe we're just different people, he needed more guidance, someone to hold his hand..... my parents clearly made their expectations known, and we were given a choice to follow or not to follow along that path. He didn't, I did.... but to say it's the parents fault is an ignorant statement for the most part.

About the issue at hand, maybe that is what some kids need for reality to set in and realize home isn't such a bad place afterall... on the other hand, I don't know how a parent could do that.

If my parents had ever done that to me, they would have to start wearing kevlar turtle necks when I got back. I'd be itching to decapitate them. That place sounds effin' horrible.

I would have thought those kids would be smart enough to do what they are told to get out sooner and just go back to the way things used to be when they got out. Doesn't sound too hard.

Did anyone read part two of this article? I mean, talk about emotional damage...Jesus.

If you haven't read part two you should because it shows how the staff plays mind games with the children.

this makes me sick. some of these kids are in there for smoking pot and cigarettes? dating someone the parents didnt like? wtf. this seriously pisses me off.

i was a good student in high school, but of course i had some arguments with my parents, i did a few drugs, but that doesnt mean i needed to be imprisoned and brainwashed like it seems these kids have been. i guess its a good thing my parents are not extremely rich and tired of taking care of their own children.

Rich lazy parents who feel they have no other options. I have 4 high school friends who where taken, against their will, to programs like this. One is dead (overdose) the others are still heavily into drugs and have difficult relationships with their parents.
I have never done a recreational drug, but can still easily see that these programs more often do more harm than good. It makes me sick that people make their living running **** like this.

If parents treated their kids like that at home they would probably be turned in for child abuse, but since they are paying someone else to do it it's ok! Bullsh-t! I think if I ran into the guy running that place my knuckles would be broken and his face would be split open! Like Smalls sayed, I can't believe someone would do this to make money!
