I just want some calrification regarding off days!! I do cardio 3-4 times a week for 30 mins first thing in the morning on my off days and i also kickbox 3 times a week in the evenings!! Does this interfere with my off days and if so how much could this restrict my growth and what can i do to maximize my rest with this routine! More calories, less sets, more sleep any help would be greatly aprreciated!
i would imagine that your kickboxing would be enough of a cardio and you could drop the other cardio that you do. also any activity outside the gym eats into recovery time. if you are trying to gain muscle you should keep the cardio to a minimum. make sure you stretch, eat lots, and massage your muscles after you work them. i find this helps a lot in recovery.

I laughed in the gym the other day, there were about 50 women in one little room jumping up and down, to loud music working their butts (or so they thought) off, and I was on the floor training (of course)...thinking they want to look like me--- "toned and lean" and yet they have never ever seen me in that room......

Miss ABS i lift on moday,tuesday,thursaday and friday and i do the other activites on my off days!! But my question is do i really have off days or enough rest if I partake in these activities on my off days! Also Miss Abs can u take a look at my question on the diet and nutrition forum and give me an opion on that as well!! Than a lot!!
So, then I would say you are not getting enough rest and recovery with all that work. I would try and re arrange your schedule, so you are getting more days off so you can rest.
Much depends on what you are trying to accomplish, that will determine what should be cut back and what should be kept.

Remember that your body needs time to recover from cardiovascular exercise as well.
Base your program around your recovery abilities.

Aerobic activity interferes with maximizing muscle mass. Now, if you just want to look good and are not concerned with maxing out your musculature I think cross-training is fine. It will make you a healthier person. That being said, I think you are doing too much. I suggest you drop the cardio all together and stick with the weights and kickboxing (which I assume you love). I'm sure the kickboxing stimulates your cariovascular system quite well. Just remember, Jack of all trades, master of none. However, Jack is probably quite the healthy bloke!
