I was told to order what I want for X-mas and by birthday from amazon.com and I am trying to get some awesome zombie/horror movies. I know we have some threads on 28 days later, but if you could list a top 10 (or whatever), that'd be awesome.
army of darkness, comedy living dead movie .....
I don't recall the name of the movie..maybe night of the living dead or something.. but they were stuck in a mall with zombies and robbing the stores in it for guns and food and stuff.. I use to watch that thing all the time about 10 years ago or so I think. I loved that thing....

Evil Dead
Evil Dead 2
Army Of Darkness (Evil Dead 3)
Night Of The Living Dead
Night Of The Living Dead 2
Dawn Of The Dead
Day Of The Dead
Those were all good zombie movies...let me think...as for horror some good ones were:
Demons
Demons 2
Night Of The Demons
Buried Alive
House
I Was A Teenage Zombie (Not crazy but it was a favorite of mine growing up.)
Witchboard
Prince Of Darkness (Kind of cheesy but all the great ones are.)
The Howling
Demonicus (Oh god this was pure cheap hilarity. I loved it.)
Thats about all I can think of off the top of my head.
I didn't like Army of Darkness, ED. I just ED1, which I like best, I'll get the second one though.
Night of the living dead is good, both the black and white and the remake. I like it cause it makes you wonder what would you do, go in the basement or stay upstairs.
It depends on what kind of zombie movie you're looking for.
Are you looking for a scary zombie movie?
Or a goofy zombie movie?

Not zombies per se, but mummies should be close enough: Bubba Ho-tep looks like it will be awesome.

One of the best zombie flicks ever:
'Zombie'. Old Italian flick that has one of the most gruesome horror movies scenes where a woman's eye gets slowly impaled by a piece of wood, in extreme close up!
It also settles the age old question of who would win in a fight: a shark or a zombie?

Lots of Italian Zombie movies are crazy. I am not sure if it falls under Zombie, but what about Reanimator. Stupid movie but I loved it.
How about a zobie game, man I loved Resident Evil.
Heh, Re-Animator is cool.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Dead Alive (aka Braindead). ONLY rent/buy the unrated version, though. The R version is just plain sad.

Houdini is spot on, Italian zombie horror is the best in the world, simply because it all fairly good and very plentiful.
Lucio Fulci's 'ZOMBI', as well as 'ZOMBI II' and 'ZOMBI III' are all excellent. Fulci is basically the Italian horror master, his other movies include 'Seven Doors of Death', which has an ending that will make you question why you get up in the morning.
I personally love the Italian horror so much because it seems so highly influenced by Expressionist art and surrealism, and are extremelely artistic if not well acted. The special effects arent always the best but it doesnt matter at that point.
Romero's 'Night' is the best of all time, because it was the originator of zombie horror as we know it in modernity. Day of the Dead is extremely good and to me, highly underrated and underseen, as is not the case with his second, 'Dawn of the Dead', which is overrated and overseen.
Germans make some good zombie horror, like this one I saw called 'Night of the Zombies' (I'm sorry I cant tell you the director
's name because...well..I dont know it).
Dont get 28 Days later unless you want a rehashing of Romero's films.
Dont get Resident Evil unless you own a gun and plan on shooting yourself after you finish the movie.
No good, true, zombie film has ever gotten mainstream distribution.

Not sure if this would qualify as a zombie movie, but Re-Animator is good. The made 2 more Re-Animator movies, but they both kinda sucked.
Those are the most memorable for me.

Suck ass will probably be more like it.
If it follows in the vein of 99% of remade classics, it will disappoint true fans.
At least the majority of these movies convince people to check out the originals.
And as a side note, my baby doll is giving me the "Day of the Dead - Divimax Edition DVD" soon. Heh.

^ I don't agree. This actually looks pretty damn good. Of course all these movies look good in the trailer, but I WILL be watching this!
Besides, I caught a glimpse of Tom Savini! Yay!

I thought that the trailer is really well done, presenting the "mall shopping spree, everyone is happy" that everyone knows and loves from happy 80's movies and then dropping the "oh ****, everyone outside is a zombie" which is rather a reverse of how events unfold in the original movie.
Of course, everyone will say: "This is a bad copy of 28 days later" or some crap. Dumbasses. But I agree, if it gets people interested in the originals, it's good.
I hope they keep the good ol' boy cookout/zombie shootin' party scene. That ruled.
