    "Soli Deo Gloria"
"Test all things; hold fast what is good.": 1 Thessalonians 5:21

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Probably some sort of political leader/figure.
"It is often said, mainly by the "no-contests", that although there is no positive evidence for the existence of God, nor is there evidence against his existence. So it is best to keep an open mind and be agnostic. At first sight that seems an unassailable position, at least in the weak sense of Pascal's wager. But on second thought it seems a cop-out, because the same could be said of Father Christmas and tooth fairies. There may be fairies at the bottom of the garden. There is no evidence for it, but you can't prove that there aren't any, so shouldn't we be agnostic with respect to fairies?"

    Richard Dawkins

"Out of all of the sects in the world, we notice an uncanny coincidence: the overwhelming majority just happen to choose the one that their parents belong to. Not the sect that has the best evidence in its favour, the best miracles, the best moral code, the best cathedral, the best stained glass, the best music: when it comes to choosing from the smorgasbord of available religions, their potential virtues seem to count for nothing, compared to the matter of heredity. This is an unmistakable fact; nobody could seriously deny it. Yet people with full knowledge of the arbitrary nature of this heredity, somehow manage to go on believing in their religion, often with such fanaticism that they are prepared to murder people who follow a different one."

Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

In christian theology, Satan would be the most evil - but he is an angel, not a person.

I think that evil doesn't necessarily mean they have to inflict death and destruction. In theory, any given person can be the most evil person in history, as long as they recognize a set of moral laws to be honestly good and then wholeheartedly believe in the opposite.

I wouldn't agree with the Jesus Christ statement. Yes, the Catholic Church is responsible for a great deal of evil, but how much of it did Christ himself command people to do?

Is Mohammed personally responsible for Sep 11? For the suicide bombings happening now? Of course not.

Directly, I don't believe there's evidence on Hitler killing a single person by his own hands. We're talking about legacy.

Belial: Couldn't you say the same for the original humans (because from them, there was a legacy of death?), Jesus's parents, or a hypothetical God (who set the whole thing up)? I mean, if you're going to be going off of chains of cause and effect leading to death, you could pick an almost arbitrary point in time and connect someone who hasn't killed or ordered killing to horrible acts.

Belial: I wasn't taking it so literally either. If followers of someone who commands peace and brotherly love commit evil acts, does that make the person evil? Say a Buddhist goes nuts tomorrow and blows up a church. Was the Buddha, then, an evil person?

    What, you mean monkeys?

No, I'm talking about an individual whose legacy (intentionally or not) has led to two millenia of strife.

    A. What is your definition of evil?

    B. I don't see how a person can be held accountable in any reasonable arena for things that he had not done or preached in any way at all. If you go through the NT, Jesus doesn't preach holy war or anything of the sort. He was a pacifist who let himself be killed rather than lead a full scale rebellion. Now, I know there is the idea floating around that Jesus figured that by Martyring himself, the Jews would take it as a rallying cry to overthrow the Roman control in their towns, but I don't know of any historical statements from Jesus that he wanted this at all. If someone thought you were super awesome, started a religion about you, and then fought other groups in your honour/name, does that mean you are responsible or is it the people who are fueling these wars? If you want to use the Crusades as something Jesus caused, it would make more sense to point the finger at the religious leaders in Western Europe who decided to defend Constantinople against the Muslums by saying that anyone who fought would go to heaven regardless of past sins. If you want to use other wars, we could go into the history and find characters who use religion to help their political/economic causes.
