Ok as a result of the last thread I'm just going to answer this one the best that I can. But Deadlift, you still haven't told us your name. If you're capable of a world record you should be proud to say your name.

.Keep your chin up - helps to keep your spine straight.
.Have your feet facing forward and flat at all times - however some high level lifters don't follow this rule.
.Always use an OLYMPIC bar with no padding or towel.
.Be careful not to rest the weight of the bar on the top of your spinal column.
.Try to eliminate any sideways movement of your knee and/or hip joints - havoc on the knees.
.Do rotator cuff exercises to maintain shoulder flexibility.
    .Squat to parallel.

People might want to add some things.

squatting is alot in the hips and ass. mainly remeber to sit back dont squat down and let your knees go over your toes, this places a great amount of shear force on the knee joint

Always sit into the squat. DO NOT lean forward. The idea is to keep the bar in a straight line when going up and down. Fill your belly with air, tighten your abs and don't breathe out until you absolutely have to.

It might be bad for strength, but I have knee trouble when I use a narrow stance. If I am using a wide stance, would I still want my knees to face forward?

I have 3 things to say, one is thanks for the tips on squat form, I basically knew most of it, I'm just having a little problem, and I need to look at every aspect of good form for squat to fix it.

Another thing is that my name is Roger Smirlis..... look for it later when I start doing contests, which will prob be around December to January. Note I'm still getting a lift put up on www.irongame.com asap.

The last thing is, just because someone is really strong doesn't mean that they know everything about lifting. I never lifted with anyone nor really read books about lifting, I just liked to lift and see how much I could do in the beginning. I had no internet so I really couldn't learn all these other powerlifting routines that mostly everyone knows. I didn't watch powerlifters squat, cause I did it in my school weight room all the way up until 2 months ago when I got a gym membership that I paid for 2 years full. The only thing I had to go by was pictures or by common sense, all the high schoolers didn't know how to lift neither do my football coaches, except one that is a football-weighttraining coach. He benched 600lbs at one time. coach marlin
