    Swollen eye

This has happened to me a few times in the past and occured gain this morning when I woke up. My left eye is basically swollen shut (it's alittle better now). When I awoke my eyelid and surrounding area was swollen as if I'd been beaten however there is no discolouration, soreness or vision impairement. It does water a bit though. I look like Quasimodo!

In the past I can tell when it's going to happen, I wake up throughout the night and don't feel any soreness but maybe a bit of pressure and know I'll look like a boxer the day after. It has always happened in my right eye only but today it occured in the left. I had it checked out this morning but they had no idea what it was. It has always returned to normal within 24-36 hours.

Anyone ever had this or have any idea what it might be?

NOTE: I don't think it's allergies or an infection. An eye cold??????

Not sure what it is. I know an eye cold usually has some sort of mucus that welds your eye closed while you sleep, then you wake up and its all crusty. its a lovely thing

If the discharge is clear and non-crusty, it could be an allergy, dry eyes from wind, a cold, or something in your eye. Because of the swelling, I would tend to think it's an allergy or cold. You might want to check with your doctor.

Yeah it's just watery, not mucousy (sp?) or anything. I've had that before where it sort of welds shut but it's swelling. The doc. didn't know sh!t.
