low GI verusu high GI before workout .....

I been reading stuff about GI and I am a little bit confuse .....

most of the shakes that I see ...seem to be high GI .. ( dextrose, sugars, etc) which seems to go against the school of thought that low GI is better before a workout .... kind of hard to think about a shake of lenttils though ...

what to eat/drink after the workout, is the insuline spike a desired effect, before, after or during the workout ?

with a shake you can drink it directly before or during

    exercise blunts the insulin response

if you eat something an hour or more before you would might want low GI
