What do you think about while lifting???

    hey...

Do you guys think about your task at hand or do you guys think about the days events? Ive noticed lately I cant stop thinking about stupid **** haha.

How do you concentrate while training? Just think about how sexy your gona look afterwards?

The task at hand, young Jedi. It is easy to concentrate because I like to train. Just like when you enjoy a good movie, you pay attention.

I pay attention to how I feel making sure everything feels right, so I am not over training. I think about what my goals are and how I am going to get there.
"No maybe I can't win, maybe the only thing I can do is take everything he's got. But to beat me, he's gonna have to kill me, and to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me, and to do that, he's gotta be willing to die himself." Rocky 4
" You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that!" Rocky

I just think about the task at hand. Usually you'll catch me zoning out in my headphones COMPLETELY unaware of what's going on around me.

When I lift, I concentrate. When doing cardio, I try to think about ANYTHING but how much I hate cardio.

I think about rich dudes who get loads of chicks and drive nice cars, then I get real angry and it feels satisfiying.

Yeah Jason summed it up pretty well. Then there are the moments in between sets, longer for some people than for others, in which I often comtemplate the raw stupidity of some of the people that surround me, until I notice my stupidity in thinking these thoughts and decide I have rested long enough

I think about getting as big as that guy, or that guy, or even that girl....

People wonder why I call myself Mr. T. One dude asked, 'does the T stand for tough?' I said no. Another dude asked if the T stands for my last name, Tureaud. No it does not. The 'T' in Mr. T stands for tuna. T loves tuna.

my mind is usually on my workout and my next set or exercise. i think about myself getting bigger and stronger and more powerful, then one day when i begin to diet, looking leaner and better.

but between sets im only human sometimes random dumb things float acorss my mind, i scan the gym looking for the random hot girl in lil shorty shorts and letting my dirty mind take over for a few econds. or watch people do 500 pound deep knee bends and yell with every rep, or the woman doing reps on the leg press while talking away on the phone, or the old guy who really should have a shirt on walking outside to get a drink of water after leaving the hot tub, or the little guys with ILS (Imaginary Lat Syndrome) or just other random funny things i see in the gym in my time there

When I'm lifting? I think "Throw this up, bitch... You wanna play this year? THROW IT UP! Plus the hot girl over there is watching you... GET IT UP!"

Actually, I only think about getting it up, and after I get it up (Failure is not an option for me) I sit and think to myself "Good job, that hot girl was staring at me too, awesome!"

Then I usually turn around and notice that she was merely looking out of the window directly behind me *sigh*

Lifting is a time of forgetting about the outside world for me, and just concentrating on getting those reps in.

    I think about...
    - how much meat I would get in my freezer by killing my roommate.
    - sniffing the spandex shorts sweaty spot of the girl doing leg abductor.
    - if my arms are bigger than the 2nd biggest guy in the gym

Between sets sometimes i get distracted by my daily bull**** bugging me. But if i have a heavy compound set coming up, i normally visualize myself doing it several times. More reps than i am going to do. Concentrating on form. Then when I go for it, i block everything out and concentrate on my breathing.

90% total focus both in between sets and while during sets. The other 10% is geared towards making sure I don't drop a weight on one of the rugrats who stand around screaming "Hello" "Hello". :evillaugh

Dood, I'm by no means a big heavy weight right now, but I'm pushing some dangerous weight. The thought of hurting or killing myself keeps me focused.
