Hey,
I've posted, and have read forever on these forums (forgot my name!, to post)
Im addicted to Gatorade.. not really, but I know its much better than Soda, but I just cant seem to down water like I can Gatorade..
I know a few of the benefits of Gatorade..
But.. Whats bad about it? I normally drink about 6-7 a day, (20oz)
Thanks in advance,
Ryan
I think it had a lot of salt, and alot of sugar.

personally all the sugar from the gatorade gets to my throat after a while.
I stick to water.
Train.
Lots of sugar in it...suck it up and down water =).

I wouldn't call that lots of sugar. Compare that to a 20oz. bottle of soda. I bet the 20oz of soda has at least five times as much sugar as the gatorade. Granted water would be better for him. Although gatorade does provide electrolytes. I would say a few gatorades are fine, but add more water to your diet.

No, it's 35g/20 oz. The label says there are 2.5 servings in the 20 oz. bottle.Originally Posted by Ti1301

what is the deal with gatorade and its supposed electrolytes??/ i alsways hear stuff about them but they aren't on the label so what do they do and why aren't they marketed better?
electrolytes are sodium and potassium which gatorade has in it... you could also just eat foods with both of them in it like a banana.

electrolytes are overrated
if all gatorade HCFS... quit it- drink maybe 1 bottle a day- I have one of the dirtiest diets on this site and even i stay away from high fructose corn syrip

I used to drink it straight up, but I sat down once and figured out the amount of sugar per serving, and it was pretty ridiculous. Especially when you get 4 servings from a 32 oz. bottle (the size that works for me)...
if I had to pick the 4 main influences on my physique, they would be:
heavy metal music, raw oatmeal, plain tuna, and whey.
You sure about that?Originally Posted by waynis

I only drink Gatorade before and after training. It makes a very noticeable difference in my energy levels if I get the quick carbs in there.Originally Posted by Holto
There are many molecules that have multiple names, some due to "common names" vs. chemical names, like Sodium Chloride and Salt - or how about Methyl Alcohol and Methanol? But to answer specifically for MSG, check out the MSDS for it:Originally Posted by JTyrell710

which lists the following synonyms: Monosodium glutamate; sodium glutamate; MSG, L-(+)-glutamic acid, monosodium salt, monohydrate.
I'm looking at the ingredients for Gatorade right now, and I don't see anything that could be construed as MSG. The only things that could be confusing to someone at a quick glance are sodium citrate and monopotassium phosphate.

i drink a lot of kool-aid with little sugar. i think it's a good way to get water down.
