*lol* k..j/k...well not really....that's what you do.....you don't bend your knees to pull the weight up...you keep your legs straight and your knees soft.

Deadlifts- you bend your legs
SLDL- your legs stay stationary(preferably with a slight bend in the knee)

So why would you do a stiff legged dead lift on a leg day? Wouldnt the stiff legged dead lift work your back more and vice a versus?
it gives an excellent stretch through the hammies and glutes. at least for me....
actually for me it hits from calves to erectors, whereas regular deads get me all the way up to my traps, so i consider them a back exercise.

...on legs days I should try to pile on the smaller weights, so I can get a better stretch at the bottom?

okay..yeah...you got me confused for a second. (also, some people use conventional deads on leg day...guess it depends on how/where it hits you, specifically).
what i do with sldls is get one of those step benches and stand on the edge of that, and then go down, so i get an added couple inches of stretch in there. (knees slightly bent)

I would suggest only doing this if your particualr body is flexible enough for this. I personally can't bring the bar lower than mid-shin level on sldl or else I round my back. This still puts a ton of tension on my hammies and low back and I walk funny for a few days afterwards.![]()

I have deadlifts o my routine now, but i never really did them yet.
last week i tried but didn`t like it much....
I heard so often how good a mass exercise they make ad i really want them to work for me. Any tips?
All the great mass building exercises suck. You will feel sick, you will be sore as hell(atleast the first couple of times) And they are hard to do correct. But once you start to see the result of them you will never leave them out.
