Usually I'm eating about 1.5cup of brown rice with my meals. How many calories/carb is this? The serving size is .25 cup = 170cal but how much is that after cooked?!?!
1.5 cups of cooked brown rice is probably about 75g carbs and 375 calories.
Make sure you try get some complimentary proteins with your meal (or within hours preferably) from legumes,vegies,nut/seed categories. I normally put some red beans and chick peas in with my brown rice, lentils are good also. As long as you body has a lot of all the essential amino acids you can make good use of the protein contents.
I was just confused because I eat 1.5 cup brown rice and 2 chicken breast and im hungry 1 hr later
Most people aren't vegetarians. We get our protein from things that used to move. Brown rice is a good source of CARBS...that's why we eat it.Originally Posted by gmanea

Yeah well I don't have a lot of cash, so sometimes I will eat a bowl of brown rice and red beans as a meal, costs less than $1.00 and plenty of protein, some carbs etc. Nothing wrong with mixing up your meals and not having meat products for every meal or protein shakes.Originally Posted by Vido
Or you can just run up behind living creatures and devour them alive.....It is only expensive because you are paying for the convenience of not having to hear the death gurgles and dying looks... Meat is actually free..
Out of the night that covers me,Black as the Pit from pole to pole,I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul. In The fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance my head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears looms but the horror of the shade And yet the menace of the years finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate how charged with punishments the scroll,I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

I was told yesterday that if you eat to much tuna it could lead to high levels of mercury in your system. I eat about a can a day, should I be woried about this.......
do a search on this forum, the topic of mercury in tuna has been covered a lot, probably within the last week or so.
Thanks.........
