any of u guys catch it?
Oli Thompson only 24 but looks like he's gonna be a real future star, bit of a shame Glen Ross didnt make it tho, anyone know iff he's retired or anything?
Watched it.
Glen Ross - Isn't he that totally unfit lard arse?
His weight helped him do the squat and deadlift events in the past but besides that he's far too fat and unfit to do the other endurance events. Get's out of breath and tired far quicker than the other competitors who actually do some form of cardio.
I'm not moaning, i'm having an opinion.
The strong man is some program to watch. Kinda amazing how they shift so much weight around.
What happended to the Scottish bloke. I probably didnt see his name because it was right at the bottom of the scoreboard lol.

Scottish-Americans tell you that if you want to identify tartans, it's easy - you simply look under the kilt, and if it's a quarter-pounder, you know it's a McDonald's.

Was Eddie Ellwood competing?

It may well of been, but here's the results from Saturdays North East Qualifier:
Under 70kg - Paul Howarth
Under 80kg - Adrian Birchall
2nd - Derek Hastie (fantastic quads, remember him as a junior)
3rd - Colin Hinder
Under 90kg - Darren Nicklehurst (last competed as a junior in 2000 in the Nabba Britain, came 4th that year, freaky, freaky legs)
2nd - Bruce McCall (very close call for Bruce who looked much better than last year)
Over 90kg - CHRIS WALL (19 and a half stone ripped)
2nd - Paul Megwa ( Could have won, many thought he should have, looked great)
3rd - Andrew Glynn (no tan, not much condition, looked like he didn't want to be there, lots of potential wasted unless he get's his ass into nick)
Over 57kg womens - Kelly Bruce
2nd - Julie Waite
3rd - Sharon Rose
Juniors - Liam Armstrong
2nd - Chris Johnson
3rd - Jason Walden
4th - Michael Kennedy
1st timers - Gustavo Diaz
2nd - Gareth Vaughan
3rd - Gary Carter
4th - Paul Slowey
Intermediates - Darren Irwin
2nd - Michael Bell
Masters - Andy Baty
2nd - George West
3rd - Mary Brown
It was cool that Eddy came, because he brought all his atlas stones, logs etc.. and in the the interval there was a comp for stone lifts and log lifts, was pretty cool. And boy Eddy is one big guy, looked massive even though he no longer Bodybuilds.
Hows your training going fella?

Glenn Ross hasn't retired for those of you asking. He's competing in the World Strongman Cup in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Dec.11th. My training partner, Beerd Beekman is also competing... I'll be there to watch and maybe volunteer if they still need some extra hands. Just some info for you that were curious.

Ah, so it was just a regional qualifier? I see. Musta got my wires crossed.
Andy Baty's the one who trains at my gym. Chris Wall has done before, too. He's an absolute beast.

Yeah, sorry fella just a qualifier. Pretty cool that Andy Baty trains at your gym, good for motivation?Originally Posted by The_Chicken_Daddy
Chris Wall was immense 19.5 stone on stage!, its was unreal! His back blew away all other competitors, but his waist is a little too wide and throws off his symmetry. Paul Megwa who also trains in Newcastle looked awsome and his posing routine was quality![]()
