Google's G-Mail Invites

I just received a couple (well, 3) of g-mail iinvites that I can share with others. If anyone is interested in trying out the service, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send out the invites.

out of curiousity, what do people think of it?

I got an account the other day and had a little play with it. Haven't looked into it enough to be able to give a good opinion, so watch this space. A gig of space is a nice touch though...

i think its pretty good. the pages doesnt reload everytime, it works much faster, you get 1gig of space and its FREE. pretty good all round deal.

some dude or something was trying to explain it today....they said when you send an email or something it looks fo certain words in it so it can target you for specific ads etc? google is going to have one sweetass database after a while if this is so

but the amount of spam you get is fooking ridicules. i havnt given out my gmail address to any spam/porn sites, but still i got 436 spam messages in my Spam-folder. nuts i tell you!!! nuts!!!!

worst thing is that some of those email, might be 'normal' mail. but no way in hell if im gonna look trough 436email to find them. spammers should be shot. aaaaargh!!!!

Ii'm not a fan of Gmail, i'd suggest you guys read up on it. I'm gonna wait till hotmail is going to do somethign of the sort, 250megs i think or less. Its better than 2 megs of space.

If you don't see it, then you don't have any. It should be big bold red letters off to the left side.

And I really like Gmail because it's simple, gets the job done, and has mucho free space. Also has a 10mb upload, which is decent.

And about the spam, it has to do with the length of your name. Because my email address is 15 characters long, and my friend's email address is 8 characters long. He gets a decent amount of spam, while I've actually never received one spam on my account ever.

I don't have any spam at all. You should track which sites you have given out your gmail address to...sometimes it's a site you paid to join or what not. Some sites are paid to give their e-mail databases to companies.

hotmail changed my account from 2mb to 250mb about a month ago.

and the ones that don't actively sell their databases have employees that will do it for their own gains. Tons of huge companies have had this happen. Most notably AOL had theirs sold off by an employee. Granted the employee was apprehended but it was to late.

mine has 6 char and Ive got close to 3000spam mails in my junk mail folder. it sux!

ive got 6 letters too, only had 1 or 2 spam emails.. and ive had my account for about 2 months.. maybe certain usernames attract more spam eg. if you have a car name in your username youll attract a bucket load of spam about cars?
