If my target daily caloric intake is 2500, and there's about 2000 in a gallon of 2% milk, would drinking that much each day (plus 500-600 from another source) work to bulk?
It seems too simple.. What are the negative effects of doing this? Anyone ever tried it?
Anyways, just an idea..
thanks

Lactose = sugar.

I suppose you could, but you mite want to start maybe half a gallon at first, and then see how you react because you need the fibers and starches too, I don't know the carb breakdown of milk, is the carbs just the lactose?

Any diet that doesn't have at least "some" variety isn't healthy.
I used to drink a gallon of milk a day for about 6 years. I was really healthy. Then I hit 14 and became lactose intolerant out of the blue. If you can handle the lactose and you get enough food with a whole gallon of milk a day, then go for it if it works.

You drank a gallon of milk a day when you were 8-14 ??Originally Posted by Titanium_Jim

drinkin a gallon of water per day + a gallan of milk = constant pissing.
I know that if I could only eat 500-600 calories of "real food" everyday and had the rest in a liquid form, I'd be pretty damned hungry.
but I thought milk does a body good?
somewhat what I eat...

Instead, use a cup of milk 3 times a day mixed with peanut butter, ice cream, and protein mix and maybe a few other things and you can make yourself a 1000 calorie shake easily. 3 of those a day is 3000 calories and its healthy with a lot of calcium, protein and monounsaturated fats. Drinking your calories for a bulk is also easier than eating. You should still eat chicken breasts and steak for the extra calories and protein though
i find that ridiculously hard to believeOriginally Posted by Titanium_Jim

1. it would be possible as long as your stomach could handle it
2. but getting only 500 calories from food would probably make you deficient in a number of vitamins, minerals, fibre, etc. and leave you hungry
3. although low glycemic, lactose does produce an insulin response so that might be a concern

why? i've heard of people developing lactose intolerance later in life, and as far as drinking a gallon a day that's not entirely uncommon either. i drink anywhere from 5 - 7 gallons fat free weekly and am in peak shapeOriginally Posted by Gizotch

So when you were 8 you were getting 2000 calories a day from milk? Yeah that story sounds believable. In other news I've been working on cloning myself by using nothing but a rusty soup tin and a bowl of pickles. So far I've made 3 identical clones of myself and plan for more, but my supermarket stopped carrying Vlassic pickles and those seemed to be the only kind that worked. That wouldn't be much of a problem if I hadn't sold my car a while back to let them use in the filming of some movie series..The Future is Back or whatever it's called..don't think it ever became popular, but god do I miss that Delorean some days.Originally Posted by Titanium_Jim
