I'm so glad I am going to be a doctor...

But studying 3 days a row for a biochem test isn't one of my fav things to do

I've been studying since 6 PM tonight. I will go to bed at about 4am, get up at 6, then head over to the library to study until 1 PM. Then go to organic class and then take the test at 2. I hope I have enough energy to lift tomorrow

Sleep should probably rank up a bit higher than lifting, after you're spending only 2 hours in bed tonight...

hehe, sleep = not an option, not this week atleast. I got so much stuff to do it's not even funny. That's why I take things from day to day, And I NEVER miss my lifting days, why? becuase I enjoy lifting

My friends think I'm crazy because even on finals week I am in the gym for my 2 hours every day

Hey, even thought IT IS nuts, I admit, I really enjoy it. I couldn't imagine doing anything else but being a doctor (I want to be a specialist surgeon), and I won't ever let up till I succeed. Having worked in various roles in hospitals over the past few years, I have found I love working in the hospital.

Oh, and thanks for the luck on the test, but I must say, on these biochem tests luck doesn't play a role You either know it or not. For reference, the material I need to know it basically 100 typed pages of notes i.e. massive memorization as well as the fact you have to truly know principles.

Then again, doctors are the cream of the crop. Don't ever give up on your dreams

Well if you going to be a doc, get used to celebrating birthdays, holidays, and anniversarys with your staff and patients. Oh and also get used to no sleep 48 hour shifts, working 70-100 hour weeks and sleeping in an empty room at the hopspital. Believe me when i say this i have seen it a million times, hell i have even had to do it for 2 years as a trauma nurse.

Sleeping only 2 hours and being worn out from spending nearly all day studying may have a negative impact on your grade. I would suggest spending more time learning the material throughout the semester and less time cramming in the final couple days. If you need to study like this all semester, then you might do better with a lighter course load.

I speak from experience as I have also taken biochemistry, along with the rest of the premed track while training 1-2 hours per day. I used to memorize flash cards between sets while at the gym. I did not find chemistry or biochemistry courses to be especially difficult. Overall I found the EE track to be significantly more challenging than the premed track.

Agreed. Hardcore cramming usually means lousy planning. If you're keeping up with the material, you shouldn't have to spend 7-8 hours a day for 3 days straight to do well on a test.

You never choose to miss a lifting day. However, at the rate you're going, you're going to end up being forced to miss one or more due to illness. Get some rest bud. It's not like you're going to be making gains in the gym sleeping only 2 hours/night, and missing a couple workouts isn't going to cause you to lose all (any of) your size either.

why 2hours a day? Do you have a lot of rest in between sets? Theres a good chance that 2 hours a day is gonna be counter productive as i believe you have said you train to failure
