I have been going to the gym now for about 2 months and I have been using the same routine now for about a month. How long should I stay with the same routine before I change? I workout every day Monday through Friday with Monday being horizontal push and pull, Tuesday- quad dominate, Wednesday- cardio, Thursday- vertical push and pull, and Friday- ham and glute dominate. Please advise when I should switch up and how.
Hey, I moved your thread to the correct forum.
The phrase "Don't fix, what isn't broken" is very relevant.
Ask yourself if you are progressing? Are you getting closer to your goals? If so, why change it?
What are your goals and how are you doing?
Don't change a routine, just because someone says do so every 8 weeks. Listen to your body. Change it if you are not getting the results you want.

Agree with D.C. If your still making progress then leave it be. When progress slows or comes to a haly, time for a change. You may be surprised by that a routine can go an for a long time if you keep adding weight to your exercises!

I agree with those two .
Since you just started lifting you might not need to change your routine , maybe just tweak it a little .
On the other hand since you did just start you might out grow it quickly . Go by how you feel .
Give me your broken , give me your beaten ... I will build them up , I will lead them ... to the threshhold . Make you stronger , make you believe .
No quick fixes here its the long haul kind of sport a little tweeking but figure at least a year. You'll know more of what your doing then too. You'll make the right choice when the time comes.
When you feel like your progress is starting to slacken significantly, time to switch.
