moved out at 18 im 21 now and will move back in in within a month or two and will attend school whilst living there. I think a lot of asian families are different then your typical american family as where my parents want me to live at home and remain so until

1. I have the job I want
2. I have enough saved to get my own house
3. I am married

this goes for the majority of the people I know such as friends and family as I have friends or relatives that are 25+ still living at home.

Let me give yall some schoolin on Pit Bulls. First off Belial..a dog who can exert several tons of force huh????? Well...Spauldin's Chevy Red Dog, ever hear of him. Holds the world record for Weight Pulling in dogs.. 11,050lbs. Thats right. That would be about 5 1/2 tons. That to some people is several tons right. That dog is a 100lb PIT BULL. Now for mrelwooddowd.... Underestimating the strength of a dog. Ever here the phrase, size of a terrier, strength of a bull... Well, Pit BULL TERRIERS have that. If you have ever owned Pit Bulls you will also know that they dont get a long so well with other dogs... so, lets see. I can put one in a kennel of about 12 by 12. That is your average sized one. Or I can put him on a 16 foot chain that circles all the way around leaving him with an area of 32 by 32.....whats more humane. Also, if you have ever looked into Canine temperment...a fence expecially for a closed in dog is bothersome, they know they can get out, just gotta figure out HOW!!!!

NOW... we will talk about the width of the chain. Because of the Pit Bulls DRIVE AND DETERMINATION, you have to put him on a sturdy chain and chain links. THEY WILL SNAP ONE...... but, you cant put them on to big of chains because being drug across the ground when rusted from rain with cause a few bad links, that is why you see dogs snap even BIGGER chains.

Before yall go hollering out cruelty blah blah blah HORSE ****!!! Know what your talking about...it would help. When my dog can jump four feet straight into the air with the chain on him NO PROBLEM, I dont think its holding him back any. Ohh yeah, and hang suspended from a rope that HE IS GRIPPING with his jaws with the chain pulling him down, all 25lbs of it LOL, i dont think thats too cruel.

I think it just has to do with what you're ready to do and no one else can really help you. I've had friends that moved out when they were 18, and friends who live with their parents till they're like 24.

I'm 21 and still living with pops. i grad in the spring so I'll be moving out this summer since I'll be making like 50k than i do now. my sis makes quite good money but just now moved out and shes nearly 25..so whatevr, but I like the idea of living at home until i have a solid foundation

Me? School on dogs? I've forgotten more than most people (including a lot of self-proclaimed dog experts) will ever know. So I appreciate the effort to school... but you also realize that slowly starting a several ton load does not require the kind of force that can snap a chain, right? The total work performed may be high, but the force applied on the chain is NOT enough to come close to breaking one of that size. A 3/4" rope can be used to pull 11,000 pounds, provided the start is slow enough and the friction coefficient isn't too high. I just don't like seeing dogs with heavy chains around their necks, regardless. They dislike it. And, you said yourself. Chains rust. Chains get caught on ****. And chains eventually corrode and snap. Bad combination all around.

I don't like seeing dogs on chains, I don't like seeing dogs stuck in the back yard. Call me spoiled, but I've owned or owned in the family everything from pits to mastiffs to danes, and those animals got free rein between the inside and out (provided they aren't tracking mud), and never tried to escape. And believe me, some of them were damn wild.

I agree with Belial, 15-30minutes on a chain in good weather wont hurt the dog, but it should run free in a fenced area, or inside the house.

She won't throw any of it away either so there's no way to get rid of it.

The kitchen is unusable because all the surfaces are covered in junk, it stinks of garbage. The cooker is covered in grease and the spark thing that lights the rings doesn't work. The oven is full of trays because there's nowhere to put them. The cutlery drawer is broken so it's on the surface, on top of a pile of baking trays.

The freezer is full of food she'll never eat, every time I clear out the fridge I find rotting food.

There's no room to eat in the dining room because the table is covered in junk. There's no room to put the junk because the floors and chairs are covered in junk.

Half the lights don't work, the hot water and heating don't work properly so I can't even have a decent bath, the floor has a 12" hole in it.

She tries to interfere with my life as if it was any of her business, which it isn't, she had her chance to be a parent to me when I was under 18 and she didn't bother then.

I only have room to workout in the living room, but my mother spends all day there literally so I never can. I'm not joking, she gets up, goes and watches TV all day, then goes to bed.

If I could I'd move out immediately. I can't think of a worse place to live or a worse person to live with. If by some miracle I managed to get a girlfriend, I couldn't even bring her back to my house because it's so small and disgusting.

Also after living a year independently at university, I don't see how anyone would want to live with their parents, it's like a hundredth as enjoyable as living on your own.

i also didn't say anything about whether i care if a dog is chained up or not. i'd rather see a fiesty or aggressive dog chained up than euthanized because of said characteristics. sometimes people teach a dog to be a certain way, and then regret it and think they need to get rid of it. it's still a life to me, and the owner is responsible

It's not that simple, she won't let me throw ANYTHING away. Nothing. Not even junk I find in the cupboard she forgot about 20 years ago that she's never going to use. She just puts it back in the cupboard never to be seen again so there's less room to keep the things we actually need.

There's stuff EVERYWHERE. It'd take years to get rid of it all, but she won't get rid of ANYTHING. I told her to get rid of all her old magazines, but she spent the weekend going through them cutting out bits to keep!

Also I can't move anything, the bin's not big enough, and there's no car to take anything to the tip.
