anybody ever get in a scrap with your father

So today for the first time...i got in a fight with my dad.

He started it by grabbing me by the throat 3 separate times...I didnt hit him (he is 60 something years old) but damn did i want to. I ended up just shoving him across the kitchen and grabbing ahold of his chest until he let go of my throat.

So anybody else ever can in a fight like this with your dad?

Yeah me and my dad went at it once and he whooped my ass, needless to say i respected him before but even more after. He is an ex special forces guy and he doesn't look strong at all but when i went at him he took me off my feet in no time and worked me over pretty good.

I hear you Brian on defending yourself...but, that is a tough one. Good thing you didn't hit him, you would of regretted it deeply later. Give it time and avoid any other further confrontations. That's what I did.

Yes. However, our "fight" was the result of my father taking some presciption drugs and mixing them with alcohol. He got extremely drunk and started getting really physical with me. I had to hold him down and I really started to panic because I have never seen my father behave that way. In that panic, we (brother and mother) called the cops and they arrested him. He spent the night in jail. Worst night of my life.

It's the only time I ever had to be physical with my dad. Hopefully, it was the last.

I've had to fend off attacks more than once, yes. never did anything except defend myself though. usually by dropping on my back and fending him off by wildly flailing my skinny little legs at him. This tactic does not work against 2x4's. You have to run when they have 2x4s.

My stepdad and I had a pretty difficult relationship up until the day I moved out. After that day, it was like *poof* instant good guy. We are actually pretty close now. Its almost like that stuff never happened.

Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial
