This is something I've been using to add the pounds, and it's not a lot to drink at all.
2 raw eggs (yum)-140 calories-14g of protein
1 scoop of whey(mine is 20g of protein per scoop-100% whey)-130 calories
4 tbsps of peanut butter- 380 calories, 16g of protein
1 tbsp olive oil-100 cals
2-4 cups of milk depending on how thin you want it to be ( 200-400 calories and 16-32g of protein depending on how much added)
Total of 1050 calories, you can add in flax oil for another 100
A total of 66g of protein with 2 cups of milk.
4 tbsps of peanut butter sounds like a lot, but if you use a real tbsp measuring spoon -then it's really not much at all.
I'd take out the raw eggs and use another scoop of protein powder.
Some people don't eat them raw, I was under the impression that the chance is food poisoning is very, very slim.Originally Posted by Vido
The chance is low, but I think some still may have trouble drinkin it. But if you like it and its workin for you (which it looks like it is) drink it down.
that actually sounds good....going to try it for sure

Honestly, you can't taste the eggs. The key is to over power everything with the peanut butter.

I find I do better on high carb shakes vs high fat, but that does sound pretty good, and easy.

You could also add some oats to that.
I do sometimes, but the more you add the bigger it becomes, obviously. This is pretty easy to slam.Originally Posted by SpecialK
Food poisoning is one thing to consider. A second thing though is that the egg needs to be cooked to make the protein more bioavailable. This has been covered in numerous other threads.Originally Posted by HahnB
You can also replace peanut butter with soy butter. I'm allergic to peanuts so its a must for me. It's slightly less protein (14g per 4 tbsps) but also less fat.
The point of the pb, aside from taste, is FOR the fat.Originally Posted by ABDomega
The protein in eggs is still pretty damn good, regardless. For most of my adult life, I've consumed a shake with a couple raw eggs in it and I've never been sick from it. Maybe I'm lucky, or maybe the odds are just that low. I know through painfull experience I'm not lucky, so I'd assume it's the latter.Originally Posted by Vido

That's true but most Wheys that you buy have some fat and carbs in them. ON 100% Whey as 23g P, 3g Carbs and a couple grams of fat i believe which according to the label puts it at 110 cals.Originally Posted by ghostrider
One cup is 250mL if that is what you were asking.
They whey I use 1 scoop= 130 calories-so all of them are not from protein.Originally Posted by ghostrider
1 cup is 1 cup. I'm referring to the unit of measure, not a generic plastic cup. 1% milk, but anything is fine.
Oh, I thought caloric and protein intake was the goal. I guess I've just never understood the whole weight gaining thing. Seems like i'm more into cutting than bulking.Originally Posted by Vido
caloric intake exactly AB and the fat in pb is 9kcals/gram thats why he said FOR the fat

No, I said it because pb is one of those "good" fats that is supposed to make up the majority of your fat intake. It's certainly not the best choice out there (in comparison to fish/flax/olive oils), but it's definitely one of the better ones AND it's delicious.Originally Posted by the one

I just tried the recipe and I am quite impressed. The taste is a lot better than a normal milk & powder combo. Compared to the taste of my normal shake, this tasted like a chocolate milkshake! Thanks for sharing the recipe![]()
