I've seen Pantera and Slayer countless times (although, it's been years)... I've never seen anything like it. I won't EVER get in a Slayer pit.

I also saw Testament, Exodus, Anthrax, Megadeth, SOD, back in the late 80's early 90's. I also saw Flotsam and Jetsam, Faith No More, Priest, Maiden, Queensryche... I miss that stuff. The last show I went to, (other than my brother's band), was Dream Theater. They are absolutely incredible... I've never seen a band who could get a croud to stand and stare in awe at what they were seeing.

Hulk - I actually like some 'hard' rap. NWA, Ice T, Some older Dre. I think Snoop is just another pansy, and Eminem is even worse (He's like Vanilla Ice trying to act like a tough guy)

True, it isn't my thing, but I can at least UNDERSTAND why some folks like things that are not my cup 'o tea.

I mean, John Tesh and Yanni are certainly not my thing, but I can see why some people like it, and I can appreciate it for what it is.

Same with country/western... I don't like it, but I can understand how some people do.

I'm not into rap, but I can get it.

I don't care for Madonna, but I recognize her talent.

I just don't understand how anyone can buy and listen to Eminem - just like I don't understand why anyone would listen to Kid rock. That stuff is on the same plane as the boy bands (In sync, backstreet, etc.)

I like stuff that is timeless.. Lots of the heavy stuff I like has been around since the early 80's, the good bands last. Metallica is my generation's Led Zeppelin. 20 years from now, you'll still hear Metallica on the radio. NWA's albums were released in the mid 80's, and are just as good, if not better, than the rap coming out now. (I still remember all the words to F*ck the Police)

5 years from now, no one will remember who Eminem was, other than the people who bought his albums, who will laugh at themselves for actually liking it. (It happens to all of us... I liked Skid Row and Kix when I was 18. When I hear it now, I laugh at myself.)

Thanks for opposing my opinion in a respectful manner. IMO Eminem says what he says to shock people into waking up to wtf is going on in our country. Std's and AIDS are prevalent in our country, AIDS is the fourth leading cause of death in our country and is most prevalent in the age groups of 18-38, but people don't say jack **** about that now do they. Maybe his lyrics are abrasive and offend people, but maybe, just maybe this will make people wake up to the things that are being said in the music of our generation.
