Guy breaks out of a courtroom

Dunno if it was posted yet, but anyone hear about that guy who broke out of his own trial? From what I was hearing, he stole the officer's gun, shot 3 people (I think one of them was the judge), then escaped and they can't find him.

i read the headline, but didn't read the story.

that's a pretty crappy bailiff if you ask me.

Bailiff was a small woman. Suspect was 200lb former football player with history of psychotic violence and was uncuffed.

They are apparently understaffed, but it was obviously stupid to have such minimal security.

i dont care if the bailiff is a blind midget. if they have a gun and are trained to use it. then use it. now people are dead because she sucks.

Of course, a gun is basically useless for close prisoner control.

Good to hear that they caught him. Would hate to think someone could get away with that.

Yeah, that was all over the news here. All the Alabama cops here were posted up on I-20 in case he decided to bail ATL and come here. It's so funny how nothing ever goes on here, and when it does, us southern folk go crazy.

Just a week before this he tried to pull a shank from his shoe while he was in court. Honestly, how bad you can feel for them when they didn't cuff him the next time he was in court.

    They are not allowed to.

I'm glad he was caught; that apartment complex is about 3 miles from my girlfriend's house.

I wasn't too worried because North Georgia is more heavily armed than a large chunk of independent nations.

Addressing Hahn again, correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall a Supreme Court ruling stating that having the defendant appear in court in handcuffs violates his/her right to a fair trial.

yeh, the bullet whipped around the baliffs skull though. she is in crit condition but apparently mostly from him knocking her to the ground etc. he shot the judge in his chambers, not the courtroom. he had to cross from one wing of the building to another to reach the poor guy. when he came in the trial reporter lady was with the judge and had the same hair color as the prosecutor, he probably mistook her. the officer outside chased him and he turned and fired.

he went far out of his way to kill people... and he was in there in the first place for raping his girlfriend for 3 days straight until her birthday. the fuc*er even brought a food cooler so he could stay there and rape her over and over w/o having to leave.

I'm not sure about the Supreme Court, but I heard them say on the news that it was the law in Georgia that a defendant could not be brought into the courtroom shackled as it might prejudice the jury.
The half-million citizens of the District of Columbia, like citizens of the fifty states, bear all of the obligations of American citizenship: they are required to obey the laws passed by Congress; they pay federal taxes; they serve in the military; and they fight and die in our wars. Yet they lack the most basic right that should accompany American citizenship—the right to full voting representation in Congress. This makes the United States the only nation in the world with a representative, democratic constitution that denies citizens of its capital representation in the national legislature. In fact, no fewer than 183 nations provide their citizens the type of representation citizens of Washington, DC are denied.

Yeah, I live about 15 minutes away. All the schools were going crazy. He broke into another person's house and killed him too when he was on the run. In all he killed 4 people and injured that one woman policeman (who he got the gun from).

From the news, he killed a legal aid/secretary or whatever, judge, bailiff, and a federal agent. I dunno if the federal agent was the one living in the house you speak of, but I doubt it.

Umm, I think a better question is, why did they only have one officer guarding him?
