HELL YEA MAN!!!!!!!!! I was 6yrs old the last time we won it. I'm happy for the seniors on the team that went through that 8-20 season, and for Coach Roy who finally has a ring to go with that impressive career record.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

im so glad a bunch of selfish jives like rashad mccants won a title, its so gratifying to see a kid who was kicked off the US junior olympic team get a national championship. im semi glad for roy williams, but shaun may is a chump for ditching indiana the way he did. how many of you "UNC fans" actually are from chapel hill or even went to UNC?

Tar Heel born, Tar Heel bred, and when I die, I'll be Tar Heel dead. I'm sorry scrutdada that your "team" couldn't beat "talent."

so you are quoting their fight song, congratulations, does that answer my question? no, it doesnt. "tarheel fans" are probably red sox fans as well. and, i didnt go to, apply to, and barely rooted for illinois, but i did want them to win because i rep the big ten whenever possible.

I've been a Tar Heel fan since I was old enough to sit in front of a TV, and just for the record, I did pull for the Sox in the World Series hah.

you dodged my question again. did you go to or are you from chapel hill? if not, then you most likely prove my point, and since im sure you hate duke, this theory can be applied to any "duke fan" as well.

Actually I think Illini fans are worse then Tar Heel fans, not so much people from Illinois who are fans, but just random jack holes who do not follow basketball who are Illini fans.

I am glad for NC winning, not sure where I stand with Roy, and glad the season is over.

Haha no I didn't go to Carolina, in fact I attend another university in NC. If we were to use your logic, I suppose you can't root for any school but the one you attended, so no rooting for Illinois, you also can't root for any professional or minor league teams because you didn't play for them. HAHA and once again, I do hate Duke, always have, always will (that goes for State as well).

well, your location says kansas, so im sure you are a jayhawk fan. dont worry, bill self will exercise the roy williams demons sooner or later, after all, wayne simeon and all those guys are gone, so sooner or later, the curse of roy will lift itself from lawrence. matt daugherty deserves a ring for bringing all those kids in.

So it's alright for him to be a Jayhawk fan, even though he probably didn't go to Kansas. Contradicting yourself a bit there ain't ya chief.

well, you are correct on the school part, cause i only root for my alma mater. pro sports, i guess is a bit different, but if youre a cowboys fan, i call BS.

Roy has a tendency to recruit like one or two good players and several project players. I think UNC has like two burger boys coming in, and Illini none, whole big 10 = none for that matter. Duke has two or three, KU has three. Like I said I am ready for next year.

Actually I went to KU for two years, I was there for Roy's last two years coaching at KU.

I don't think him questioning you as a Tar Heel fan is right, but you have to admit there will be alot of new Carolina fans come tomorrow.

Um... hey I went to Carolina.

    WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

And uh... I grew up in Durham and my dad's a Duke fan (and alumni), so I'll root for them against most people.
But the important thing is that my team won.

    GO TAR HEELS!!!!!!

Couldn't have said it any better. Again though, I have nothing against who you root for. I just like to see people root for schools they went to or schools from close to where people are from. People on bandwagons make me want to puke on sports...Anyone can root for a winner

My fault Jabberwocky. Didn't realize you had actually attended Kansas. I suppose since I don't list a location by my name, it may cause some confusion, but I don't live but a bit over an hour from "Tobacco Road."

Oh and there's one other thing I don't understand. How in the world is Sean May a chump for "dissing" Indiana. First off, just because you live near a university, doesn't mean you have to attend. Second, he wanted to play for Bobby Knight, who left, and because they had a close relationship with Roy, he decided to go play at Carolina. Now explain to me where the chump part comes into play...

Yup- the bandwagonneers piss me off too- I attended Carolina during the 8-20 season and all the B.S. with Doherty- and I still watched almost every game.

Geez, scrutdada, is it really that big of a deal who roots for who?

I will agree that bandwagon fans are the worst, though. I pulled for UNC (because NC is a southern state and Iliinois isn't ), but could've really cared less. I'm not excited at all this morning for UNC. However, congrats to the team and all their fans!

I live in UNC and a bunch of the guys in my dorm went to the Dean Dome/Franklin Street last night. They said it was just insane and fun as hell with all the rioting/fighting/burning ****. I ****ing hate Carolina (Duke fan) but I would have gone just for that if I wasn't feeling so ****ty yesterday.
