    Shaving

Does anyone here get their back shaved? I was wondering how they do it and how much. How much is laser hair removal and things like that?

I have a few stray hairs on my traps and upper/posterior shoulders. I pull them out (shaving makes them grow back thicker and faster). Not enough back hair here to consider actual treatments, though, so I can't help you.

I have countable stray back hair on the top of my back, it looks very strange.

My freshman RA had more back hair than I have on my whole body. His mom paid for laser removal but apparently it's a several step process. I would be very hesitant to shave due to thickness of the hairs when they grow back.

Wow, more high school urban legends, lemme straighten you out:

SHAVING HAIR NEITHER MAKES IT GROW BACK FASTER NOR THICKER, IT IS A PHYSICAL IMPOSSIBILITY.

Please stop saying that it does, it gets quite tiresome hearing it after awhile.

I shave damn near everything. But I can't reach around to the back, it's not too bad anyway. Laser hair removal seems to work quite well and usually doesnt cost TOO much. You should be able to get your entire back done for probably 4-700 dollars (takes a few sessions). That's my plan eventually.

That reminds me of that episode of Sex and the City where Charlottes boyfriend Harry gets his back hair waxed for the wedding and it's like beat red when he takes his shirt off....

Being a man and watching Sex and the City can't be good for my test levels...

uh, this one guy I know... he uh, he tried waxing once. no wait. His incredibly hot supermodel girlfriend talked him into waxing once. After the tears and blood dried, he broke out in large angry painful zits all over the waxed area.

I wonder what he did wrong...

The hair doesn't grow in thicker per se but the original hair has pointed and tapered at the end, correct? When you shave it, it grows with a blunt end, correct? Therefore, although it may be an illusion, it appears the hair is thicker. By no means does more hair grow back, that's just silly.

Okay. But why does it have a pointed end in the first place?

Laser hair removal's only between $400-700? I thought it was closer to 5,000. And, it doesn't ever grow back?

I'm a teen now, it's not a problem, but I have a little on my lower back (I can't really tell if I have any other hair on my back because it's not big enough to show yet). I have a little on my shoulders (VERY little) so it's not a problem.

Oh, sorry - I totally misread that before.

    I agree, to a point.

I do NOT like the look of back/shoulder hair.

But on the rest of the body, it's fine. Feels soft, actually.

    I HATE stubble.

I have had the exact opposite experience, every girl I have ever been with has said they prefer less hairy/hairless guys.

that all depends on the girl some like hair and some don't, either doesn't bother me most men that do shave, who train, shows off their definition more i would think

I've never figured out how someone shaves their balls.

I don't shave anything except my chest (does anyone else use a razor?). But, I was thinking if I was at the beach it would look hella trippy if I had a hairy back (I don't know) and a clean front. Haha.

maybe they don't really shave their balls.. just the region above that.

a man shaving all hair on his body? I read a story once where a guy couldn't stand his butthole hairs.. so he shaved them. and got so sweaty and slippery and developed a huge rash from it, that it was one of the worst things ever. :O
