trying to incorporate high/face pulls into my shoulder day.
it seems like the top of the motion is the same as an upright row. is width b/w hands the difference?
also, any opinions on doing face/high pulls with a cable as opposed to a bb?
You know what an upright row is.
A high pull is an olympic lift assistance exercise. The bar starts on the ground and you explosively pull it into an upright row, basically. It's the first part of a clean, except you don't drop under the bar to fully clean it.
A face pull is a horizontal row from a high pulley attachment where you're pulling it in a straight line towards your nose or eyes.
Be a man. Be awesome at it. Be proud of it. Beyond the Barbell

your opinion on these as a target for traps/rear delts?
Face pull is more rear delt specific. High pull is more trap/medial delt specific. Assuming you don't cheat on either.
Edit: High pulls/hang high pulls are a superior replacement for upright rows, which are not good for yout rotators.
