I'm going to my first protest next month

A high school in Tracy, CA(50 miles from here) has a gay-straight alliance club at their school. This has attracted the attention of that piece of crap Kansas church and leader of such crappy church who protested the funeral of Matthew Shepard in 1998. He was the kid who was gay bashed and killed for those that don't recalled. So these self-righteous maggots think they have the right to ruin this high schools graduation ceremony because high schoolers decided to get along with one another. The graduation is June 11th.

Anyways, a good friend and coworker of mine asked if I would join her and her Mom's church to go down and partake in the "anti-protest" protest. Basically tell those piece of crap religious zealots to get lost "peacefully". As a man who can't stand organized religion OR idiots who go to extremes like this, I had to agree.

Not something i ever thought I would do, but should be interesting.

These guys actually recently protested a play about Shepard's life at my old high school earlier this month. I had considered going, but decided not to as I knew that I would inevitably get in a fight.
There were apparently 10 of the hatemongering protesters and 100 or so "fag-enabling" anti-protesters.
I was considering going and standing with the hatin' churchies while dressed up as Hitler with a sign that said "I was right" on one side and "Gas the queers" on the other.
As I said, I would have gotten into a fight for sure, and seeing as those *******s are all about some legal counsel, I decided not to go to get sued or make a trip to jail.

Phelps was here in Durham a few weeks ago to protest the Shepard play. A very succesdful anti-Phelps strategy was employed: Ignore the living **** out of him. No counter protest, no yelling back at him, not even acknowledging his presence. Indeed, people acted as if it was a normal day. It worked very well.

That said, I recommend the following strategy:
